Overview Manages the Aftermarket Application Engineering team, ensuring successful completion of the developing, utilizing, pricing, and other processes and procedures that support the Client Asset Modernization (CAM) and Resident System Support (RSS) sales team’s efforts.
Responsibilities
Manages a team of Application Engineers, including recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures
Works with the CAM Sales and RSS Sales teams and customers to define system requirements and specifications
Works closely with Aftermarket leadership to prioritize work to meet and exceed Wynright’s aftermarket sales goals
Designs solutions to modernize sometimes complex static, semi-automated, and automated material handling systems; specifies auxiliary equipment and systems.
Works with clients to evaluate alternative technologies to existing systems
Write proposals, evaluates vendor offers, and estimates project costs, including working with other Wynright groups and vendors
Supports CAM and RSS Sales, including visiting job sites for customer meetings and surveys
Creates plans and drawings, including drawings in AutoCAD 3D
Evaluates task-based maintenance requirements to build staffing plans
Develops implementation plans to allow modernization efforts to occur within operating facilities
Ensures that designs are compliant with relevant codes, such as building, fire, CEMA, and OSHA
Reviews the work of other department members, providing training and mentorship
Identifies upcoming end of life technologies along with replacement program
Identifies new technologies, equipment providers, fabricators, and subcontractors
Collaborates with other engineering teams to maintain alignment on technologies and to facilitate resource sharing
Helps enforce company and department project management and engineering standards
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience
Minimum 10 years of industry experience
Experience managing a technical team preferred
Excellent management skills for directing, coaching, scheduling, and assisting team members
Expertise with material handling, including ASRS, controls and software
Knowledge of project management and minimum of one engineering discipline
Proficient with AutoCAD and 3D drawing
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Knowledge of financial accounting
Leadership and conflict resolution skills
Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills and organizational skills
Self-motivated and detail-oriented
Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to learn new technologies
Ability to work weekends and evenings as required
