Women’s Independence Program Director

The Cathedral Center, Inc.

This is a Full-time position in Phoenix, AZ posted November 15, 2021.

Reports to : Executive Director
Salary Range : $40,000 – $45,000
Job Summary : This position is responsible for the development and oversight of the expansion of the Cathedral Center’s Women’s Independence Program.

This program will have heavy emphasis on workforce development, with service delivery areas encompassing personal skills development, job readiness & on the job training, job placement and follow up support for women experiencing homelessness or housing crises.

The WIP Director’s primary responsibilities during this upcoming year will be to further develop curriculum for each of the three service delivery areas, create and track targeted outcomes, further develop program structure and integration into existing service delivery flow, monitor potential contractual services, cultivate existing and new relationships with employers and volunteers and ensure effective data collection and analysis.

The WIP Director will be fully engaged in monitoring costs and reports to funders, as well as efforts to improve and continue services, ensuring all services are mission focused and delivered in a compassionate and dignified manner.

Specific Job Duties:
  • Fully develop program structure in consultation and collaboration with CCI management team: this includes scheduling, creating forms, data collection and more.
  • Develop and select effective curriculum for each of the three service areas: personal skills, job readiness training and on the job training – utilizing existing and seeking new resources.
  • Provide support and critical linkage to CCI’s case management services upon employment placement.
  • Data collection and analysis, as well as timely submission of complete and accurate reports to fund sources, executive director, accounting or others.
  • Active participation in agency staff meetings, retreats, strategic planning and follow up, with attention to follow through and ensuring effective communication within agency and programs.
  • Active participation in and collaboration with community consortiums relative to the homeless provider and workforce development network.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, professional and up to date documentation of all supervisory and client oriented services.

    Assist with the development and oversight of agency services and policies.

  • Effective development and oversight of the WIP budget.
  • Public speaking and presentations, representing the Cathedral Center and partner agencies in a professional and respectful manner at all times.
  • Other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Director.
Skills and Qualifications:

Required:

  • Education: Bachelor degree in social service area
  • Experience: Workforce development and employment services, group facilitation, understanding of group dynamics, practiced public speaker.
  • Valid Wisconsin driver license and reliable transportation.
  • Effective skill in use of EXCEL, Word and other Microsoft applications, as well as comfort in learning an internet based case management program.

Preferred:

  • Master degree in social service area
  • Clear knowledge and understanding of community and family systems, poverty and homelessness.

Clinical supervision in Social Work for Wisconsin Provider licensure is available. Criminal background checks will be required prior to finalizing employment. Hours may vary, though there will clearly be a need for some evening activity.

This position is open to all qualified internal and external candidates.

Internal candidates must have reached six months of continuous employment at the time of application.
