The Dining Service Supervisor is charged with the responsibility of providing a full and enhanced dining experience to residents and guests while maintaining budget goals and regulatory compliance.
essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Assist the GM with staff performance including hiring, scheduling, training and retention of host/hostess and food servers as well as coordination with kitchen production staff* Assists in maintaining budgets and controls cost associated with staffing by controlling turnover and limiting the use of overtime and premium pay* The Dining Service Supervisor is committed to providing excellent service by increasing staff productivity, developing and maintaining programs to improve service excellence, enhancing resident and visitor satisfaction and ensuring cross training and staff development* Maintains effective and efficient dining services, maintains positive resident and visitor relations and ensures products and staff services are consistent with quality and excellence standards* Assists the GM with Profit & Loss management by monitoring restaurant billing procedures, security procedures, managing staff performance, reviewing financial reports and taking appropriate action when necessary* Assists GM with carrying out the responsibilities of the community’s Dining Services department* Develops and maintains host/hostess and food servers work assignments* Completes host/hostess and food servers performance appraisals on a timely basis* Maintains and corrects the job performance of host/hostess and food servers through effective discipline* Complies with, supports and enforces all dining services policies and procedures including safety, infection control and sanitation ensuring staff adherence* Directly supervises effective staff service to residents and guests* Ensures food is stored and served in compliance with all Dining Services procedures and local county, state and federal guidelines* Purchases supplies within assigned budgets and through company approved distribution sources and vendors* Ensures adherence to quality assurance processes by routinely auditing meal service, dining, safety, sanitation and meal satisfaction* Updates all individual menu requirements of PC residents and ensures that host/hostess, food servers and cooks are fully informed and aware of dietary changes* Demonstrates knowledge of fire safety procedures, and assists with evacuation of residents to a safer location in the event of fire or other emergency* Identify safety hazards or acute resident problems and informs manager of needed attention* Possess team building skills* Cooperates with staff of other departments in performing job duties* Conveys a professional and positive image and attitude regarding the organization* Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances Qualifications Related Experience: 1 year supervisory experience either in a restaurant or Health Care setting preferred Education or Degree Requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent Licenses, Certifications, Registrations: RAMP; Serve Safe Certification A Drug-Free Workplace.
