Job Description
Position Summary:

The Vice President, Proposal Services is responsible for developing and producing proposals and related documents in support of Precision’s business objectives.

The VP of Proposal Services is responsible for leading, managing and growing Precision’s capabilities to deliver quality proposals.

The VP will work with leaders across the enterprise including Strategic Business Development and Finance to ensure that the proposals meet the strategic objectives of the company.
The position of Vice President, Proposal Services also requires the ability to independently manage company projects in accordance with the budget.

The Vice President, Proposal Services is a leadership position that requires supervisory experience.

Candidates for this position will be expected to have strong interpersonal and organizational skills, allowing them to set and achieve objectives in the execution of the programs and tasks to which they have been assigned.

The Vice President, Proposal Services is also expected to support the Sr.

Leadership team in the training and mentoring of junior staff.

Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:

Lead the team responsible for developing and producing proposals and associated documents (e.g.

LOIs, Work Orders) in support of the company’s strategic objectives.
Manage the overall proposal center capabilities and resource capacity, including the Costing/Pricing/Quoting Tools
Continuous process improvements with respect to proposal and associated document delivery to improve all elements of delivery and facilitate success of operational and business development teams
Lead initiatives to ensure the continued development of all staff within the Proposal Services department.
Develop and manage metrics and other KPIs to demonstrate effective management of the department’s workflows and processes
Collaborate with Finance teams to provide routine updates on proposal volume, progress towards deliverables and execution of contracts and work orders
Where necessary, assist with overflow of proposal writing and contract negotiation to ensure the delivery of documents to clients remains on track
Strategically interact with CRM and Business Intelligence platforms/tools to represent proposal services areas of expertise and deliverable inputs.
Manage and coordinate contract negotiations with business vendors and other service providers
Develop or obtain appropriate technology tools to solve business problems
Minimum Required
Qualifications:

4-year college degree, or equivalent experience ideally in a business, scientific or healthcare discipline
Other Required

18-20 years or more in the CRO/pharmaceutical industry, preferably with corporate management experience
Direct supervisory or experience managing people is expected in candidates for this position
Ability to drive and availability for domestic and international travel including overnight stays
Preferred

Graduate, post graduate

Proven ability to apply organizational development/change management methods to transform the organization and continuously upskill the teams
Resolves company and project related problems and prioritize workload to meet deadlines with little support from management
Exhibits high self-motivation, and is able to work and plan independently as well as in a team environment
Motivates other members of the company to meet timelines and project goals
Focuses on continuous improvement, including the ability to make proactive assessments on how to make processes more efficient and people more effective
Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism, as evidenced by ability to deliver on commitments, an understanding of the service culture and positive interactions with customers and teammates, including good interpersonal skills in the areas of diplomacy and negotiation
Identifies training needs for direct reports and develop training plans to address those needs
Communicates both verbally and in written form in an acceptable manner
Conducts formal presentations to a wide variety of audiences including colleagues, investigative staff, and clients with a high level of proficiency
Works within a project team, focused on setting objectives, tracking progress, and other project leadership responsibilities
Possesses an understanding of financial management
Ability to assess and quantify risks to the proposal service delivery, both internal and external
