Position Description:
RELYANT Global, LLC is currently seeking an experienced Vice President of Compliance for their Corporate Office located in Maryville, TN. This Vice President of Compliance will provide general legal and contractual support to RELYANT Global, LLC.
The position provides legal advice on the interpretation of statutes, regulations, legal opinions, and corporate policies; as well as prepares and reviews legal documents and represents the company in regulatory forums.
The Vice President of Compliance will spearhead the Employment Relations and Contracting Teams, to ensure a high level of compliance.
Major responsibilities of the position are listed below.

Responsibilities
Proactively identify and assess potential legal and/or reputational risk in support of business units both in and outside of the United States, and recommend practical, creative solutions that balance legal risk with business impact.
Provide subject matter advice and guidance on a variety of employment law matters, such as the development and implementation of employee policies, organizational restructures, leaves of absence and accommodations, pre-employment practices including FCRA compliance and background screening, and other HR practices.
Monitor legislation, regulations, case law and government enforcement activities relating to all substantive legal areas, and provide proactive, strategic advice within all aspects of the law.
Support and collaborate with cross-functional business units on complex legal matters and special projects to drive and sustain legal compliance and further the long-term interests of RELYANT.
Model and work with business units across the company to ensure compliance with RELYANT’s Code of Business Conduct.
Monitors legal developments across all RELYANT specific service lines, to stay abreast of legal changes that could impact the company.
Manages work performed by outside counsel, contract attorneys and support staff providing legal support to business.
Works in the development of training regarding legal, contract matters as needed.
Manages claims and disputes.
Assists project teams in interpreting contractual obligations.
Assists Contracts Team in contract negotiations.
Lead the analysis of and drafting of turnkey agreements, joint ventures and consortium, subcontracts, major equipment purchase agreements, operations, and maintenance contracts.
Responsible for identifying, mitigating, and explaining risks to senior level executives.
Assists with legal and contractual issues including negotiations involving new acquisitions.
Required Skills:
Skills and Qualifications
Juris Doctorate Degree with strong academic credentials from an accredited law school is required.
Licensed to practice in Tennessee.
Must have 5+ years of experience gained in large law firm and/or in-house with major firm, strong interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization.
Strong negotiating skills with both legal and financial/commercial issues Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships within the organization’s departments and across all business units.
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
Experience with employment law and contracting requirements.
Strong analytical skill with ability to solve complex problems.
Demonstrable experience in drafting and negotiation of complex contracts.
Excellent written and oral communications and negotiation skills.
Ability to travel domestically & internationally.
Experience involving government contracts is a plus.
