    About Intel Global External Manufacturing & Sourcing (GEMS):

    Global External Manufacturing & Sourcing organization, GEMS, has the responsibilities of driving Intel’s overall foundry/OSAT strategy, sourcing, technical interfacing, and high-volume manufacturing.

    The scope of the organization covers various aspects of outsourcing operations including manufacturing strategy, technical & commercial supplier engagement, comprehensive coordination of internal engineering & business teams, as well as high volume manufacturing operations management.

    The team’s key goals are: 1) establishing solid technology & sourcing roadmap & strategy to support Intel’s product leadership and revenue growth aspiration; 2) delivering secure, flexible, and cost competitive capacity through external manufacturing partners; 3) ensuring uninterrupted, high quality supply to our customers.

    With Intel newly established IDM 2.0 strategy, Intel will grow its outsourcing operations significantly in the years to come.

    About the Role

    The Vice President of External Manufacturing Operations is an extraordinary leadership opportunity for a highly-motivated and dynamic leader with can-do attitude, high volume manufacturing experience and product engineering expertise who can drive intensive production execution as well as develop, mentor, lead and drive a diverse global team.

    This position reports to the Intel Corporate Vice President/General Manager of External Manufacturing & Sourcing and will lead a global organization focusing on managing high volume foundry/OSAT manufacturing operations as well new product introduction, NPI.

     

    Responsibilities:

    Responsible for flawless NPI, best-in-class ramp execution, predictable time-to-yield and consistent volume manufacturing operations.

    Being a large-scale manufacturing GM without owning the factories, the leader must drive the consistent peak performance of external factories through building a team of world-class engineers & supplier management experts, establishing global manufacturing infrastructure, and cultivating productive relationship with external factory partners.

    This leader will also work broadly with Intel internal teams, to set and achieve best-in-class operational goals, aggressive yield targets, competitive cost benchmarks and world-class quality levels. 

    Experience Required:

    Must have proven leadership skills across technology, engineering and operational domains with extensive experience in managing all aspects of high-volume manufacturing operations including leading edge technology, large scale wafer manufacturing, production excursion prevention, product engineering, yield enhancement, volume ramp execution, cycle time improvement, cost reduction, and quality assurance.

    Have demonstrated results and accountability for broad leadership as well as building of followership.

    Being decisive, progressive, and dynamic in a high growth and fast paced organization with passion to grow, lead and develop a global diversified team of 200+ industry-leading manufacturing and supplier management professionals.

    Having the track record in managing large scale operations with multi-$B of purchasing spend.

    Must have an executive presence to engage with suppliers at the top level and influence internal teams at all ranks through credible leadership, constructive confrontation, and sincere collaboration.

    High tolerance to ambiguity, ability to efficiently define concrete strategies and plans in such an environment.

    Executes toward results with focus and a sense of urgency.

    Qualifications

    MS degree in Electrical, Material, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science or relevant field ; PhD, MBA preferred with 20+ years of applicable experience.
