Student Services and Enrollment Management The University of Oregon Office of Admissions is a part of the Division of Student Services and Enrollment Management and includes approximately 60 staff who are all engaged in the work of recruitment and outreach to prospective undergraduates, and making thoughtful decisions on all applicants for freshman, transfer, and post-baccalaureate undergraduate admission.
The Division of Student Services and Enrollment Management (SSEM) is a complex organization that includes the Office of Admissions, the SSEM Central Office, Continuing and Professional Education, SSEM Events, Student Financial Aid and Scholarships, Office of the Registrar, Student Orientation Programs, Strategic Communications and Marketing, University Health Services, and University Housing.
The Assistant Vice President for Student Services and Enrollment Management, Director of Admissions (AVP) develops and directs fiscal and resource strategies, plans, and policies for the SSEM division.
The AVP focuses on strategic processes consistent with the university’s enrollment goals and provides leadership in collaboration with other AVPs and Directors for the successful planning of resources, processes, and technology to ensure effective operations that affect all potential and enrolled students, as well as academic units.
Position Summary The AVP provides consultation and advice to the Vice President, Assistant Vice Presidents, Department Directors, and campus leadership regarding SSEM initiatives and strategies.
The AVP specifically oversees the Office of Admissions and provides leadership, direction, and management oversight to the entire Admissions organization.
Further, the AVP provides consultation and advice to campus administration and the schools and colleges related to prospective student recruitment and enrollment.
The AVP provides expertise to the creation, management, and implementation of student recruitment strategies for all new students and provides support, research, and analysis to support institutional policy initiatives related to student recruitment at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
The AVP is expected to participate as a leader in national and state admissions discussions as an advocate for recruitment and admissions policies.
The AVP oversees the Admissions budget of approximately 7.1 million dollars and approximately 60 team members.
Minimum Requirements Master’s degree.
Ten years’ experience in higher education within student services or strategic enrollment management.
