Training Program Manager For Northwest Center Services @ Amazon

Position summary Training Program Manager will thrive in a dynamic environment and has a strong training and development background.

As the Training PM, you will be responsible for implementing and administering high quality training initiatives in various learning programs for the NWC@Amazon division.

This role focuses on training coordination, running programs, monitoring impact and success metrics, and assisting with curriculum development, but does not typically involve delivery of training.

You will play a significant role in the development of a successful and effective national team.Location: SeattleSalary: $72,446 per yearSchedule: Mon Fri 8am 5pmPlease submit resume and cover letter Key responsibilities / Essential FunctionsTraining ProgramLead the development of training materials with a combination of in-person, virtual classroom and eLearning / docs.

Partnering with subject matter experts to develop expertise and collaborate with the training team and SMEs in the development and continuous improvement of materials focusing on operations and the organizationReviews existing training programs; suggests enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention and/or to meet the changing needs of customers, Northwest Center, or the industryDevelop strategies and programs to scale training platforms to meet operational growth initiatives.

Approaches may include self-serve training, Train the Trainer programs, documentation and leveraging resources in other departments within the OneNWC community.

Work cross-functionally to drive the success of our @Amazon divisionEnsures that training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effectiveLeverage your product knowledge and customer/employee interaction to identify potential product capabilities and gaps that dramatically simplify product implementation and usage Work with Operations Managers directly to improve the product based on your insightsMaintains knowledge of new methods and techniques for training, and training requirements applicable to the organization and/or industryCollaborates with vendors and third-party training providers to arrange employee registration for and participation in outside training programsEnsuring strategic alignment of the training department with business goalsEnsures that training milestones and goals are metConducts or facilitates required and recommended training sessions as neededPrepares and implements training budgetDocumentationCollaborate with various stakeholders to write, review, and edit user-friendly technical content for internal and external employees, and end users in the form standard operations procedures (SOP), knowledgebase documents, internal wikis and other forms of documentation as requiredDevelop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standardsObtain a deep understanding of products and services to translate complex product information into simple, polished, and engaging contentWrite user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience, turning insights language that sets our users up for successAssist in planning, scheduling, and tracking documentation work to meet product release dates and client deliverablesDevelop and maintain detailed databases of appropriate reference materials, including research, usability tests, and design specificationsEvaluate current content and develop innovative approaches for improvement PeopleResponsible for direct reports professional developmentResponsible for program performance ensuring that all procedures, processes and policies are understood and followedCarry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with NWC and Amazon policies and procedures.

ExperienceMinimum 4+ years training management experience with proven experience in leading operational training in a vendor/tech environment across multiple programs and geographic regionsDemonstrated knowledge and application of adult learning theoriesTrack record of executing, monitoring, and improving learning experiencesModerate computer skills in MS Office, Advanced skills preferredExperience in Training Management systems Demonstrable SkillsCommitment to Northwest Center’s mission of inclusion and ability to successfully work in a diverse environment.Ability to practice a high level of confidentiality.Interpersonal skills to effectively motivate others.

Is not averse to change.Ability to moderate large groupsThorough understanding of training processes.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong graphic design ability.Working Conditions & Physical demandsMust be able to frequently carry and lift a backpack containing a laptop and other supplies, up to 50 pounds.May need to carry supplies to other buildings.Variable working hours between 07:30AM and 6:00PM with occasional nights and weekendsIt is a combination of desk and actively visiting several Amazon buildings so the ability to move consistently within a 1.5 radius is required.Ability to read, write, communicate and comprehend the English languageAbility to communicate verbally for extended periods of timeAbility to see both distance and details at close range, within a few feet of the observer (with or without corrective lenses).Ability to identify and understand the speech of another person (with or without a personal auditory hearing device).Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including occasionally arriving early, staying late on a moment’s notice and occasional evening and weekend shifts.This is a dog friendly environment with over 1000 dogs on campus.

Individuals with dog allergies or those who do not particularly care for dogs may not be the best fit.
