The Wydown is an independently owned specialty coffee bar and scratch bakery and kitchen with two locations located in the heart of Washington, DC.Our mission is to delight customers and create the kind of special moments that make life great. We’re passionate about service and obsessed with good coffee and food and those are the tools we use to carry out our mission. Our staff is known for being friendly and genuinely hospitable.We execute an innovative drip coffee and espresso program based on United States Barista Championship criteria. We incessantly refine and polish our techniques and push the envelope of quality.We seek an experienced and talented Director of Coffee and Quality Control to lead our coffee program and ensure every beverage served at The Wydown is of outstanding quality.The Coffee Director is responsible for:*Training*Ordering*Quality Control*Menu Development*Community engagement*Healthy Financial Coffee programThe ideal candidate will have:* A minimum of 1-2 years as an experienced barista in a high volume, high quality environment* Outstanding guest issue prevention/guest relations skills* Experience in successful teaching skills* Excellent organizational skills* Must be committed to our mission and culture*A love for, and curiosity of great coffeeIt is highly possible that duties will include leading a coffee roasting program in the near future.Our compensation package is competitive and commensurate with experience.
