Principal Duties & Responsibilities: (List essential functions of the job and approx.
percentage of time spent on each activity; describe what must be accomplished, not how it must be done) Create and establish robust controls, including risk assessment and control evaluation, establishment of scope and objectives, testing, and monitoring action plans for adequacy and timely completion.
Advise management regarding adequacy of control structures, and negotiate effective, efficient solutions to control weaknesses.
Prepare and provide written/verbal communication to management and the PAS Controls Council.
Create and execute a controls governance structure to highlight process design decisions to the Controls Council, with explanations of how they meet control objectives, particularly for key operational and financial controls.
Lead and participate in the development of a dynamic, risk-based audit plan linked to the PAS Program’s key business objectives.
Accountable for execution of plan so as to maximize coverage of higher risk processes and issues.
Oversee and review work by providing technical guidance as appropriate, to accomplish Program objectives for quality while meeting established expectations.
Develop first level quality assurance procedures to ensure compliance with procedural and data guidelines.
Identify and/or develop enhancements to department and auditing procedures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the audit process and maximize the value provided to customers.
Job Specifications: ( Include education, experience, special skills and licenses or certifications required) Education: 10 years of progressive leadership experience in business environment, including supervisory experience; 7 years of experience in audit (internal and/or external); preferably in financialand/or insurance Experience: Knowledge of controls frameworks & risk analysis models; internal auditing standards & techniques; company accounting processes & operations.
Advanced analytical skills and analytical problem solving skills; ability to mine data, and perform critical analysis of key data.
Strong communication and leadership skills; demonstrated change management skills.
