Position Summary: Achieve volume and category sales objectives through the assigned accounts within the territory.
Effectively manage the accounts to improve sales, profitability and relationships with Phillip’s retail partners and vendor partners.
Territory includes: Nashville/Memphis and Knoxville TN
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Evaluates current business processes and systems and makes recommendations for efficiency improvements and/or cost reductions
Review performance data (financial, sales and activity reports) to monitor and measure productivity, goal progress and activity levels
Achieve quarterly/annual budget & goals accountability.
Utilize variance report, acquired technical product knowledge, market trends, and industry publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in pet industry trade shows.
Service existing accounts, identify opportunities for growth and have a purpose for the visit.
Drive to sell and grow territory volume, number of customer accounts, and sales revenue
Obtain orders, and increase sales volume by presenting both current promotions and new lines.
Monitor competition by gathering marketplace information, identifying competitor’s trends, assessing presence and merchandising techniques.
Follow up with customer questions or issues and resolve problems in a timely manner.
Keeps sales management apprised of sales activity via various reports (call logs, work plans, territory analysis).Submits reports in a timely, organized manner.
Maintains technical knowledge by learning about products and trends, reading industry publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in pet industry trade shows.
Focus on customer satisfaction and building client relationships
Participates in a safety culture that includes no recordable accidents and no loss time injuries.
Always make the safe choice.
Watches out for co-workers and warn them when there are any safety issues or hazards.
Participates actively in all safety programs and activities.

Position Requirements:
Associates degree from an accredited college
Five years sales experience
Pet industry experience preferred
Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Ability to leverage computerized systems and spreadsheets to measure and analyze efficiencies
Must have a valid driver’s license; reside in assigned territory with auto and current auto insurance
Travel within assigned territory; up to possibly 50% overnight travel may be required
