on W2Candidate will work from their home base, internet service required.Manages the development and implementation process of company’s products and services involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products.
Plans and directs schedules and budgets.
Monitors the project from initiation through delivery.
Organizes the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget constraints.
Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.Work Schedule: M-F 8:00 AM 5:00 PM, must be flexible to work overtime if needed.Position Summary:Project Services group needs a Project Manager to join their national team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative and tactical support for major customers in the Pacific Northwest.
Looking for an ambitious individual who enjoys a dynamic fast pace environment and has proven customer service skills.
This is a remote work from home opportunity that will support a regional customer base.
Candidate must be comfortable traveling to job sites.
This may involve overnight travel with 10 15% expectation.
Candidate will cover MDU (multi-dwelling), SFU (single family), and FTTB (business) architectures from design to test and turn-up.
Ideal candidate must be comfortable behind a desk and/or on a job site as needed.Day to Day Responsibilities:Read and understand FTTX (fiber to the home) NDS and CAD designsWorking understanding of fiber optic architecturesCommunicate and follow up with customers’ requests as required about specific projectsProcess invoices for customers and/or vendors based on services renderedTrack and report on material status for projectsAssist with creating written estimates for customers based on engineering, labor, and materialsAs needed support project manager to visit project sites to evaluate progress and respond to customers’ concerns or questionsCommunicate with site superintendents about delays and any other issues that must be communicated to clientsAssist with updating project data in various systemsCreate reporting and tracking spreadsheets for projectsOrganize & Communicate project schedules and timelinesAttend pre/post-installation conference callsSupport the creation of project meeting agendasAttend weekly project meetings as requested by the customer and keep detailed meeting minutes for publishing to project team and leadershipDevelopment of the overall project scheduleAbility to review drawings and specifications to become completely familiar with the project and identify long lead times and critical path items.Assist with creating submittals, purchase ordersAssemble the close out documents for customersMonitor and report on invites and bids in CTL Bidmaster system.Distribute billing reports for Lumen and other customers on a regular basisWork with sales, project managers, and deal management to obtain contracts and purchase ordersConsult with project managers and finance to ensure reports match the revenue recognition timing within SAPParticipate in weekly/monthly forecasting meetings to offer input into dates and risk associated with timing of revenue recognitionRun daily backlog report to determine what projects are past due and work with PM to determine root cause and potential new datesUpdate key performance indicators for daily shipping/billing, monthly forecast accuracy, and others as requiredVisit customers as needed to ensure satisfaction and discuss any new projects being planned.Conduct inventory activities of construction materials located at contractor-controlled yardsConduct pre-construction site surveys to verify cable routing, identify any obstacles that may result in additional construction costs, and take field measurementsAssist in the creation of splice plans, test plans, and other documentation itemsMonitor fiber optic plant construction activities to ensure products are being installed within customer guidelines and manufacturer standard recommended procedures (SRP)Provide daily reports outlining construction progress on all installations located in the assigned area of responsibility.Troubleshoot potential warranty issues using provided equipment such as Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDR), Visual Fault Locators (VFL), and Optical Test Sets.Required Skills:Associate Degree or higher requiredProject Management 2 + yearsAbility to follow directions and take initiative when requiredExtensive knowledge with Microsoft Office products: Excel, Word, OutlookStrong organizational skillsStrong written and oral communication skillsAbility to handle rapidly changing prioritiesAttention to detail with focus on error-free workWorks well in team environment and with peers – team playerResult-oriented and responsive; utilizes network, SME’sand other available resources to facilitate driving tasks to closure.Working knowledge of fiber optic testing proceduresFamiliarization/working knowledge with Lumen (Centurylink) software, FireWorks, WFMT, TIRKS, NDS, Quantum Fiber, OSPFM, MARTENS, NIESL and Bidmaster.Familiarization/working knowledge with Frontiers FROGS and Varasset platforms100% fluent in EnglishDesired Qualifications:Familiarity with Procore project management softwareExperience in the construction industrySuperior administrative and organizational skillsDemonstrated record of delivering high quality results, resumeKnowledge of building/reading splice plans.Knowledge/experience with field/site walkouts.Hands-on experience splicing and testing fiber optic networksExperience providing hands-on instruction in either a field or classroom environmentExperience with ” Underground” construction.
