POSITION SUMMARY

  • Performs radiographic procedures using fixed and mobile radiographic equipment within the hospital environment (i.e., E.R., Main Diagnostic, ACC Radiology and Orthopaedic Radiology).

    The technologist must be proficient in all the areas of general diagnostic radiology.

    Provides leadership and supervisory support to department.

Qualifications POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education/Certification:

  • Minimum
    – Graduate of accredited school of Sonography
    – preferred BS in relevant field
  • ARDMS registered: certified in physics, abdomen/pelvis and ob/gyn
    – preferred certification in vascular but must obtain RVT certification within 2 years

Work Experience:

  • Minimum
    – 3 years of relevant clinical experience, hospital experience a plus
  • Preferred
    – 5 years of relevant clinical experience, with 2 years of leadership experience

Duties:

  • Coordinates, monitors, trains and serves as a technical resource
  • Provides expertise in decision making, problem solving and conflict management in departmental operations
  • Manage staff schedules, rotations and time off requests; Keeps overtime to a minimum
  • Maintains accreditation for all sites
  • Helps develop, ensure and maintain compliance with protocols
  • Performs gynecological, obstetric, abdomen, pelvic and thyroid exams, as well as venous doppler of neck and extremities along with interventional studies such as biopsies and para/thoracentesis.

    Preferred proficiency in renal and liver transplants
