Job Summary
The Project Director (PD) will assist with the overall direction and implementation of the project, including the direct supervision of the data manager, study/lab coordinator, and research assistants (see below for a description of duties).
The PD will have experience working with African American adolescents and their families, in addition to experience working with administrators, teachers and other staff of large public school systems.
The PD will maintain an active school and community presence in the schools and neighborhoods where the participating schools are located, including attending community and school meetings deemed supportive to the project.
The PD will oversee and direct participant recruitment and data collection, including home and school-based data collection activities.
The PD will assist with the management of required reporting to the National Data Archive and other required reporting for NIH sponsored Clinical Trails.
The PD will assist in the training of the intervention facilitators and will troubleshoot any problems that arise during the daily implementation of the study.
As an example, when and if Human Subjects issues are in need of resolution, the PD will be the person to write up the incident reports and keep all institutional Offices of Research Protections and the NIH Office of Human Subjects apprised of all occurrences and resolutions.
The PD will organize materials and lead the quarterly meetings of the Data Safety and Monitoring Board.
The PD will lead the project’s research meetings and regularly report to the investigators on the progress of all project aims, goals, and activities.
The PD will assist with the preparation of statistical analyses, in coordination with the PI and other investigators.
The PD will assist in the preparation of all IRB reports, progress reports, the final report and data dissemination.
The PD will assist the investigators in human subjects protections (including preparing IRB submissions, reporting adverse events, preparing and running meetings of the Data Safety and Monitoring Board).

Responsibilities
Installs, sets up and performs experiments; interacting with students and other laboratory staff under the direction of the principal investigator.
Maintains recruiting and scheduling research subjects; assisting with developing or amending study protocols; assisting with developing data collection tools; assisting with building databases; and providing general administrative support.
Has general awareness in research techniques or methods, regulatory policies and procedures, and relevant scientific field
Performs other related work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
