The COE seeks an individual with strong communication and collaboration skills, and relevant experience and expertise in student affairs and supporting the engagement, recruitment, retention, persistence, and successful completion of academic study for students in distance delivered programs.Under the guidance of the relevant faculty and student affairs leadership, the Student Affairs Manager is instrumental in designing, establishing, and maintaining systems and structures for ensuring strong relationships with students in distance programs, and is responsible for working with a caseload of students to develop individual action plans and provide academic success services to help retain and graduate students.
The Student Affairs Manager supports student engagement in their academic program, focusing on distance programs, and provides outreach to effectively increase student satisfaction and persistence to graduation.
The individual designs and engages in recruitment and retention efforts to build and maintain enrollment.

News & World Report as one of the top Best Places to Live in the U.S.**Job Duties:**+ Responsible for managing a caseload of students to develop individual action plans and provide academic success services to help retain and graduate students.+ Collaborate with COE faculty, student resources and student affairs staff, and various partners across the University to support student recruitment, retention, engagement, success, and persistence in their academic program.+ Develop and manage new systems and structures in student success supports, particularly in the online learning environment.+ Create processes and procedures to implement a wide range of student advising, support, coaching, tutoring, engagement, and strategies to ensure student persistence.+ Provide a full range of advising and student services support to students and the general public by responding to inquiries and requests for information and assistance in person, online or by telephone.+ Engage with students completing distance programs to develop strong relationships and connections to enhance student engagement and satisfaction with their experience in distance programs.+ Create databases of relevant information and clear pathways for students in state educator licensure requirements (Colorado and outside).+ Assist students in resolving issues, concerns, or problems.+ Implement current theories and best practices for supporting student success.+ Collect, gather and validate data, prepare basic reports.+ Input data, update electronic databases, web sites, literature, and associated materials.**Job Competetncies:**+ Effective communication and interpersonal skills.+ Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public.+ Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality regarding critical and sensitive information, records, and reports.+ Knowledge of best practices in student retention and success.+ Ability to work in partnership with colleagues and faculty.+ Building collaborative partnerships with faculty, administrators, students, parents, and community partners.+ Applied understanding of student development theory, including the impact of student support programs on academic success.+ Multicultural competence and a demonstrated commitment to diversity in all forms.This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).**What We Offer:****Salary Range:** Generally starting at $42,279

– closely related field with 2 years of experience as a staff in student affairs, retention, student support, or closely related position, preferably in an adult education environment.+ 3 yrs.
previous academic advising, counseling, academic coaching, supplemental instruction, and/or teaching experience with diverse students.+ 2 yrs.
experience with distance learning.+ Knowledge of Federal, state, and local laws, policies, procedures, rules and regulations pertaining to student privacy, FERPA, HIPPA and Title IX.**Preferred Qualifications:**+ Bilingual (English/Spanish).+ 1 yr.
experience with case management/supporting success for students of concern.+ 1 yr.
experience supporting, developing, mentoring, and motivating a diverse team.+ 2 yrs.
