The Chief Operating Office (COO) is responsible for delivering a more consistent approach to business operations across Wells Fargo, strengthening the company’s risk and control infrastructure, and delivering effective and efficient enterprise services to employees and customers.

The COO group includes the head of Operations, who is jointly responsible for line of business operations with each of the five LOB CEOs.

Operations functions include contact center operations, client servicing support, money movements within our businesses, lending operations, and other functions.

The COO group also includes a number of teams dedicated to strengthening Wells Fargo’s risk and control infrastructure.

These include the Control Executive team; Regulatory and Policy Affairs; Enterprise Customer Excellence; Sales Practices Oversight and Management; and Strategic Execution and Operations.

The Chief Administrative Office, encompassing the Corporate Properties Group; Corporate Security; Enterprise Business Resiliency; Strategic Programs and Process Improvement; Enterprise Change Management; Supply Chain Management; and Data Management and Insights, delivers important services for our employees and customers.

The Strategy Consultant will provide leadership of cross functional / virtual teams to strategize, plan and execute a variety of activities and initiatives that are significant in scope, complexity, and risk. 
Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead enterprise fact-based assessments to understand current opportunities and define strategies that will improve efficiency, risk mitigation, and improve customer experience. 
  • Conduct detailed data analysis with high level of accuracy, to include but not limited to data elements such as, technology, human capital, location, organization, function, process, and service.
  • Facilitate dialogue with leaders to design and sequence initiatives to deliver on approved strategies. 
  • Provide oversight and leadership of the change initiatives necessary to deliver on the approved strategy.
  • Deliver high quality communications with senior leaders including key messages, content, executive level collateral, etc. 

Work locations: Charlotte, NC; New York, NY; Minneapolis, MN; Des Moines, IA; and Phoenix, AZ.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of strategic planning experience
  • 5+ years of data analysis experience

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills with ability to turn findings into strategic imperatives
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to turn findings into executable plans to meet business objectives
  • Experience communicating in both written and verbal formats with senior executive-level leaders
  • Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
  • Ability to synthesize complex analytical findings into executive level communications
