The Senior Project Manager for Electrical Engineering will be responsible for the oversight and leadership of a dedicated engineering team, including organizing the teams activities to support the various projects and efforts of the overall company.
The Senior Project Manager for Electrical Engineering will be responsible for Managing multiple projects as they transit into and out of the Engineering function.
Responsibilities:
Provide oversight to department and engineering team ensuring assigned projects adhere to scheduled deadlines, maintaining project operating efficiencies and work quality to company and customer standards.
Monitor projects from conception to completion by working cross-functionally with peers in other departments.
Act as the communication to upper management regarding status of project deliverables and escalation of issues.
Effective manage and allocate resources to team and project needs
Recruit, lead and develop Engineering team to provide progressive career growth, creating a pipeline of talent for business needs
Perform management administrative tasks in a timely manner, (e.g.
performance reviews, timecard, expenses, and travel)
Provide guidance on design, technical direction, and resources to team
Collaborate cross-functionally with customers and other company departments to trouble shoot project issues, providing a cost effective and timely solutions.
Resource demand vs capacity planning and assigning resources to projects in a dynamic demand environment
Accountable for project performance to schedule, and quality and accuracy of engineering deliverables.
Conduct project check-ins for quality and timing of project deliverables.
Accountable for project cost forecasting and performance to budget.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Organized with attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to build and maintain productive work relationships
Ability to communicate to upper management and escalate issues as needed.
Ability to travel throughout the US, as needed
Knowledge of project execution process Sales, Estimating, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain (Procurement and Manufacturing), Mechanical Installation, Commissioning, Acceptance Testing and Turnover to customer
Knowledge of project forecasting
Skilled at Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Skills in scheduling using Microsoft Project preferred
Ability to accept and adapt to changing internal and external customer expectations
Ability to evaluate engineering processes and identify areas for improvement and pursue changes needed to improve efficiency, quality, and schedule performance.
Preferred knowledge of Autodesk products
– Vault, AutoCAD, and Inventor
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree (or higher) in Engineering or related field
Minimum of 5 years experience progressively managing and leading a team, preferred experience in the material handling industry.
Minimum of 5 years engineering experience, prefer material handling
Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment.
