The Logistics Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership and execution of the logistics function at the Forest, MS Facility. The candidate will be responsible for the safe day to day operation of the logistics team and various logistics activities in order to meet and exceed customer requirements and developing/implementing logistics strategies to meet and exceed established service level commitments. The Logistics Manager must establish a collaborative work relationship with the site Property Manager as the candidate will be the face of Logistics and Property in the Facility. The candidate oversees and supports the execution of continuous improvement of standard logistics processes relating to the safe receipt, storage, distribution and shipment of material at the Forest facility. Must be able to build relationships with strategic internal customers in order to service the overall site needs. Must have the ability to understand and use RI&S business systems to drive improvement as well as to anticipate and resolve issues. Responsibilities include : * Continued support and progressive evolution of the safety culture in Logistics and the site overall
* Identifying and supporting the development of continuous improvement in all areas of Logistics operations
* Work on cross functional teams to improve functional/site performance in order to support both internal and external customers
* Serve as a point of contact for Logistics related issues on a site level
* Ability to effectively communicate with many levels of the organization through both written and oral communications methods
* Establishing and ensuring consistent adherence to policies and procedures within Logistics
* Developing functional goals and sponsoring personal and professional development of the logistics team
* Identifying issues, recommending potential solutions and support of projects by removing obstacles both internally and externally to the function and organization
* Analytical thinking: proactively identify potential problems and work cross-functionally to develop solutions
* Actively manage metrics such as safety and key logistics performance indicators to ensure service level commitments are achieved
* Sponsor or lead continuous improvement projects such as CORE, lean, or innovation
* Responsible for making significant improvements in communicating and adhering to RI&S Logistics policies, practices, and processes to enhance team and customer knowledge and confidence
* Manage 3PL performance against contractual guidelines and metrics
Required Skills: * Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience in Logistics inventory management, property, contracts, procurement, finance, and/or program management
* Experience leading a diverse team of Exempt/non-exempt employees in a fast-paced environment
* Working knowledge of ITAR, FAR, DFAR and MMAS as pertaining to inventory requirements
* Working knowledge of SAP functionality related to Logistics operations
* Change Management skills
* Strategic team leadership skills
* Effective Communication Skills – Ability to effectively listen and communicate both orally and in writing with all employees, internal and external customers as well as all levels of management
* Experience with personal safety and protection policies and procedures
* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Power Point
* US Citizenship status is required as this position requires the ability to obtain Secret US Security Clearance within one year of start dateDesired Skills: * Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills
* Experience in SAP PRISM/APEX or similar business system
* Experience working in a dynamic environment; managing multiple priorities and adapting strategic direction to tactical applications
* Experience working with internal customers, program managers, material program managers, Government representatives and senior level management
* Experience in the Aerospace or Defense Industry
* Experience with establishing SMART performance goals
* Superior interpersonal and customer service skills * Logisticians Certification (APICS or other industry certification)
* Experience using RAYTrak or other point to point tracking system
* Expanded knowledge of FAR, DFAR and related regulations as they apply
