An information technology application manager coming from a broad range of information technology experiences with a passion for understanding the business they support and managing/implementing solutions to meet those needs. Not an expert tied to any specific application but a generalist with solid ERP experience and a foundation capable of managing the overall technology stack. The ideal candidate is motivated to join a fast-growing organization where they can drive changing information systems application needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage relationships with Goal Zero’s application vendors, inclusive of budgeting, software renewals, and software and hardware procurement
- Monitor and manage day-to-day operations of Goal Zero’s applications ensuring availability and uptime
- Oversee IT application projects including application upgrades, customization, and new application evaluation/selection/implementation
- Coordinate with business leaders & subject matter experts to understand business processes and evolving application needs
- Provide timely expert advice and speedy resolutions to support issues and resolve escalated issues from support groups
- Curate and refine knowledge base articles
- Provide feedback to your peers, helping them to grow and develop while also contributing your creative ideas to the IT leadership team
- Communicate and manage high impact and high visibility incidents throughout their lifecycle, involving all stakeholders and technical contacts (internal and external)
- Manage full time internal resources and contract/consulting application resources to achieve day to day operations and project needs
- Lead a team of resources dedicated to supporting the user community, supporting your team’s needs, and removing barriers to your team’s progress
- Drive process improvement in the support IT organization, contributing towards the growth across the greater group
- Use written and verbal communication to help educate our employees, stakeholders, and leadership by keep them continuously updated throughout the lifecycle of their reported issues
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external teams (e.g. Infrastructure, Applications, BI, PMO)
- Provide feedback on prioritization and sequencing of all Project backlogs
- Develop and monitor annual IT budget
- Apply an Agile way of working to all activities by leveraging DevOps modes of operations and Customer Centric Thinking and Design approaches
- Deliver first-class support across our employee, partner, and vendor base and exceed their expectations
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience in application development through the full application lifecycle including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, implementation, and operations
- Experience as a developer in coding, scripting, and/or configuration
- Experience as a project manager with a passion for delivering on-time, on-budget, on-scope
- Experience in software evaluation, selection, requirements gathering, and implementation
- Experience in budget management
- Experience in IT vendor management
- Experience in Cloud and on-premise hosted solutions stacks
- Experience in Azure DevOps
- Experience with Business Intelligence, Data Lakes, and reporting tools best practices and use
- Experience with enterprise level microsite tools such as Site Core or related CMS systems or headless delivery systems
- Experience in a larger structured IT environment where best-practices were learned but a passion for the speed of a smaller organization and the judgement to apply best-practices that are appropriate
- Experience with SAGE ERP (experience with similar ERPs will be considered for otherwise strong candidates)
- Strong communication skills capable of both working with highly technical resources as well as senior business leaders
- High energy level and strong sense of urgency focused on delivery
- Strong judgement and analysis skills with a predisposition to identify and outline options for complex and/or impactful decisions
- Self-motivation driving continuous improvement

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- Open office environment – Primary
- Evening and weekend work as job duties demand, especially in collaborating and syncing up with overseas partners
