Sr. Information Technology Project Manager

Chemonics International is currently seeking a Sr.

IT Project Manager to oversee the overall delivery of the project from planning to release and operations.

IT Project Manager, manages project team members and stakeholders to ensure success of the project.

The Sr.

IT Project Manager will serves as a project management consultant and provide technical leadership and innovation to internal and external clients.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Product Delivery
Oversees overall project activities throughout all phases of SDLC.

Aligns project with the overall IT yearly work plan and Corporate Initiatives vision and goals.

Defines and manages project vision, strategy, scopes, schedules, budgets, resources, and risks.

Proactively manages project team members, stakeholders, beneficiaries and management expectations.

Gathers, analyzes and manages business and system requirements and designs; when appropriate, designs the requirements with input from others.

Gathers, analyzes and, when appropriate, contributes or starts to design the reengineering of business processes.

Leads and manages UAT and deployment activities.

Leads project change management activities.

Leads and manages project vendors to ensure timely deliverables within budget and scope.

Develops and manages contractual documents.

Proactively solves project issues promptly and effectively.

Proactively leads and empowers project team members to innovatively deliver product.

Works effectively to ensure appropriate parties are involved and engaged to achieve project goals.

Provides periodic communications to project sponsors, stakeholders and management.

Leads software market research including RFI/RFP development, cost benefit analysis, and selection process.

Champions and adheres to project management industry standard and best practices suitable to Chemonics.

Technical Capacity, Management, and Leadership
Prioritizes, improvises and adapts technologies to address changing business needs and issues.

Takes leadership role in advancing project management and process improvement best practices and tools.

Provides project leadership and management consulting across the enterprise.

Proactively provides input to the overall Application department work planning process.

Proactively contributes to IT organizational process improvement initiatives.

Partners with business and IT leaders to identify and prioritize opportunities for utilizing IT capabilities.

Identifies problems and suggests solutions that the IT department can implement.

Takes on leadership roles in problem solving and responds immediately to emergency situations.

Proactively improves technical capabilities through trainings, workshops and events.

Recommends strategies to streamline systems for effectiveness and efficiency, considering client needs, team dynamics, and division and corporate mission.

Participates in internal or external professional associations and represents company at IT related conferences, events, and industry meetings when appropriate.

Undertakes assignments on projects or special initiatives as appropriate.

Makes presentations and trains staff as needed through one-on-one mentoring, small group trainings, corporate training programs, and information dissemination as needed.

Proactively communicates and liaises with other departments, units and individuals on joint planning and activities.

Participates in activities to build a strong knowledge culture by sharing best practices and important innovations through practice networks and knowledge management systems.

Recommends and participates in staff recruitment process.

Promotes staff development through coaching, mentoring, and facilitating professional growth opportunities.

Creates a respectful, productive and motivating work environment by establishing and maintaining partnerships across departments, staying abreast of management, leadership, and team building strategies and advocating for them within Chemonics.

Fosters and demonstrates a workplace inclusive of creating opportunity, serving others, building trust, innovation and exceeding expectations.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.

The qualifications listed below are representative of the required knowledge, skills, and/or abilities needed to perform the principal duties.

Minimum 10 years of IT project management experience in planning and implementing enterprise level systems.

Demonstrated leadership, versatility and integrity Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience required.

Experience in requirement analysis and management required.

PMP and/or Scrum Master certification preferred.

Exceptional soft and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.

Excellent analytical and technical skills.

Excellent written, verbal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.

Excellent planning and organizational skills.

Experience with all phases of SDLC and iterative or agile development methodology required.

Demonstrated understanding of information systems, business processes, the key drivers and measures of success for the business.

Ability to solve complex technical, managerial, or operational problems and evaluate options based on relevant information, resources, well-rounded experience, and knowledge.

Ability to operate at advanced levels of authority and manage significant activities and resources to produce and take responsibility for results.

Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and lead presentations, training courses, and effective meetings.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise staff and special initiatives.

Demonstrated integrity, independent thinking, judgment, and respect for others.

Physical Requirements
Regular attendance and availability during normal Chemonics Washington business hours are required Ability to work in a normal office environment Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Work Conditions
Normal office environment; usually moderate noise level Occasional exposure to environmental conditions include exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by the weather Ability to travel and work abroad in less developed countries for at least 4 to 8 weeks a year
