Careers that Change Lives In this exciting role as a Senior Engineering Manager you will have responsibility for conducting and managing sustaining quality engineering and reliability assurance including the failure analysis process.
Primary focus with be on providing HALT/HASS services for Product Development and Failure Analysis Activities, conducting failure analysis to determine root cause for product or component issues, establishing critical metrics to measure product reliability, working in conjunction with R&D to establish a design for reliability process, and providing support for the sustaining quality engineering function.

The Specialty Therapies division of RTG offers a broad portfolio that addresses urologic and gastrointestinal disorders, conditions of the ear, nose, and throat, as well as stroke products.
A Day in the Life Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
May develop, evaluate, implement and maintain technical quality assurance and control systems or reliability systems and standards pertaining to materials, techniques, or company products.
Oversees the investigation and evaluation of existing technologies.
Guides the conceptualization of new methodologies, materials, machines, processes or products.
Manages feasibility studies of the design to determine if capable of functioning as intended.
Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Manages product reliability assurance, failure analysis lab, and the sustaining quality engineering function.
Manages business acquisitions.
Establish a Product Reliability (HALT / HASS) and Failure Analysis Laboratory.
Establish critical product reliability metrics to include reliability growth, monthly trend analysis and reporting of product field data, and MTBF / MTTF.
Implement and conduct Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) and Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS) for new product development to determine weaknesses in design prototypes, incoming component / assembly reliability screening, final assembly screening as a replacement for burn in process for select products, and for failure analysis of products with intermittent failures.
Conduct Failure Analysis on field returns to determine root cause and facilitate improvements through design, supplier, or internal manufacturing processes.
Conduct Failure Investigations that address potential product issues that may require corrective or preventive actions.
Collaborate with R&D on Failure Analysis on products in development to assist in root cause analysis and record information into a failure analysis database.
Work with R&D in establishing a process for Design for Reliability.
Provide Manufacturing Value Stream support to include process validations, NCR, and other shop floor compliance and product quality activities.

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or technical field with 7 years of work experience in Engineering, Quality, and/or experience in a regulated industry with 5 years of leadership experience OR Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science or technical field with 5 years of work experience in Engineering, Quality, and/or experience in a regulated industry with 5 years of leadership experience.
Nice to Have Medical Device Experience Acquisition Experience DRM/Black Belt/Six Sigma Experience with reliability testing for electro-mechanical devices and plastics.
Demonstrated capabilities in conducting Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT), Highly Accelerated Stress Testing (HASS), Product Verification and Validation Testing, Weibull Plotting, FMEA, and FTA.
