Senior Product Development Manager

We are looking for a Senior Product Development Manager who will have impact and help people get jobs using their skills to lead teams of product developers to develop software, identify business opportunities, analyze large data sets, solve varied business problems, and architect and build products that will grow Indeeds business around the world.

You will be multi-talented across several fields, such as software engineering, engineering management, analysis, and critical thinking with a good understanding of overall business context, great communication skills, passion about the internet & its economics, and is driven to help job seekers find jobs.

You need to be highly resourceful and intellectually curious with solid technical skills.

You must go beyond just writing code and running the numbers to be able to translate relevant information into actionable insights.

You must have a good overall business sense to solve real-world problems.

You must strive to be well-rounded and good at many things from technical to business to operations to communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Manage teams of developers with responsibilities including: routine one-on-ones, performance reviews, career development, technical leadership, project management, and more.

• Manage projects across multiple teams simultaneously at every stage, from ideation and requirements gathering through delivery and maintenance.

• Perform in-depth business analysis on projects to deliver results and insights to stakeholders.

• Work across various teams and functions (Engineering, Product, International, Finance, Legal, Sales/CS, and Marketing) to execute initiatives and tasks

• Add to the team’s infrastructure of algorithms, automation, data mining & quantitative business analytics

• Support your organization by maintaining a high bar for hiring and by building talent and skills

• Regularly lead performance reviews for those in your organization

Who You Are

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree majoring in Computer Science, technical Engineering, Physics, Math, Statistics or a related analytics field

5+ years of experience in leading development with a consistent track record of on-time delivery for large, cross-functional projects

• Minimum 8 years of software engineering experience in the industry

• Solid understanding of software engineering principles (design patterns, OOP, best practices, etc)

• Experience with relational databases (SQL) or noSQL storage system

• Strong ability to coach developers, helping them improve their technical, business, and project management skills and grow their careers

• An understanding of the value derived from shipping code rapidly to production and learning/iterating on the results

• Self-motivated, resourceful, and a genuine desire to learn new skills and solve tough problems with quality software at scale

• Solid business sense with a passion for driving results.

• Identifying and measuring core business levers and helping to identify and size opportunities they present

• Experience working across various teams and functions (Engineering, Product, International, Finance, Legal) to execute initiatives and tasks

• The ability to understand business problems and employ product management skills to plan a technical solution and lead a team to implement the solution

• Supporting business-critical projects
– such as understanding sudden changes in core business metrics and delivering clear recommendations to reverse negative trends / accelerate positive trends
