ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are seeking an Senior Manager, IT Systems Administration to manage and provide support for engineering projects, IT infrastructure and development.

The ideal candidate for this position is passionate about uptime, technology and in building a collaborative, results-oriented culture.

Selected candidate will work with engineers in IT as well as other parts of the organization such as manufacturing, serialization, finger-printing etc.

to serve additional use cases, optimize workflows, launch products as one collaborative team, and anything else you can think of to enhance the experience of our customers, employees, and their day-to-day development environment. 

This is a hands-on role with responsibility to lead and mentor other junior resources in a progressive team environment with an opportunity to work alongside infrastructure engineers and architects. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Partners with the engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity and project management teams to help implement new systems that are scalable and highly resilient 

• Develops automation tools and processes to help scale operations

• Provides configuration and maintenance support for serialization application (Systech)

• Responsible for disaster recovery testing and restoration of critical services during DR events

• Provides systems and services expertise and drive operational best practices 

• Participates in capacity and scalability planning

• Leverages or builds appropriate technical tools to perform administration tasks, root-cause analysis, and service restoration (such as backup, restore, failover, log interpretation, and performance monitoring

• Develops and maintains positive and cooperative relationships, inside and outside of teams, interacting in a friendly, open, honest, and accepting manner 

• Ensures 24/7 availability of the production servers and applications within a team environment

• Resolves incidents and requests from Engineering and Manufacturing teams.

Requires on-call availability on team rotation outside of normal business hours

• Works to develop internal SOPs and updates Confluence for key systems and services

• Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience:

• Understanding of serialization systems (L1 – L3) including site servers, line controllers and line devices such as handheld scanners, cameras, and printers

• Experience managing site servers, including OS (Windows Servers), SQL and HMIs 

• Experience configuring, maintaining, and using Systech application is preferred

• Fundamental understanding of factory automation (PLC, industrial PCs, computerized control systems, etc.)

• 5+ years of experience with virtual machines and systems administration on Nutanix is a must

• Solid understanding of IT principles for manufacturing environments

• Experience with DNS, DHCP and understanding of networking in a manufacturing facility

• Experience with PowerShell and Active Directory 

• Experience with Nutanix, AWS and GCP preferred

• Experience working with GMP systems and processes

• Strong work ethic and have a natural tendency to take ownership of incidents & requests 

• Ability to communicate effectively to various stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer science or in an Engineering discipline

• Experience working in the early-mid stages of a fast-growing company is a plus

• Certifications in Nutanix, AWS and/or GCP is ideal
