In our journey to positively impact patients’ lives, we are currently looking for a Business Development & Alliance Management Senior Associate.
This role reports to the Vice President of Business Development
As the Business Development & Alliance Management Senior Associate you will have the opportunity to drive the execution of SOPHiA’s business development strategy.
Business development plays a critical role in the strategic growth of SOPHiA by leading partnering initiatives and executing various types of transactions to shape our product / commercial roadmap and enable our platform to impact patients globally.
The Senior Associate will drive a portfolio of partnering opportunities and collaborate with functional leaders to drive deals to execution.
This will require strategic relationship management, effective time management, creative problem solving, and thorough diligence.

Your Main Tasks Will Be:
Identify, evaluate and drive new business development opportunities that meet the strategic, platform, and commercial needs of the organization
Collaborate with stakeholders within R&D, finance, legal, commercial, medical and alliance management to identify optimal partnership cases and structures
Efficiently manage a pipeline of partnering opportunities and timelines, coordinating cross-functional collaboration, and delivering high quality outputs
Create presentations and materials to facilitate partnering discussions, draft and negotiate term sheets and seek buy-in from various corporate functions
Cultivate relationships with potential partners in relevant industries
Lead due diligence processes and support other prioritized business development initiatives and activities as needed
Requirements
Minimum of BS or BA from accredited institution with major in biology, business / finance, or related fields.
MS or PhD preferred
Minimum of 2-4 years of business development, alliance management or investment banking experience in life sciences
Efficient in self-managing deadlines, prioritizing assignments, and delivering outputs with high attention to detail
Must have demonstrated leadership and negotiation skills with excellent communication and organizational skills both; Experience in preparing/presenting key information to stakeholders and management.
Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills
Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Strategic mindset that is highly analytical and detail-oriented
Ability to distill massive amounts of complex information into digestible formats that lead to productive discussions
Self-starter, low-ego, mentality and a willingness to always go the extra mile with an Entrepreneurial mindset
