The Senior Program Manager (SPM) will have the responsibility working with teams across PayPal to get PayPal Credit products implemented across a majority of PayPal product lines.

The SPM will work with business, product and technology leaders to identify products and strategies; develop detailed execution plan and work with teams across PayPal to bring new products / features to market.

This role is key to the financial success of PayPal Credit as we continue to expand our product and market offerings, making a significant contribution to PayPal overall.

– Senior Program Manager – T27

Description:  
The Senior Program Manager (SPM) will have the responsibility working with teams across PayPal to get PayPal Credit products implemented across a majority of PayPal product lines.

The SPM will work with business, product and technology leaders to identify products and strategies; develop detailed execution plan and work with teams across PayPal to bring new products / features to market.

This role is key to the financial success of PayPal Credit as we continue to expand our product and market offerings, making a significant contribution to PayPal overall.

This role takes a full end to end view of customer and merchant experiences, including: upstream offer presentment, credit application, checkout, mobile app and more to achieve outcomes of delivering new products / features to market.

The ideal candidate should have strong organizational skills and ability to build detailed understanding of experience and usage of the products, leading to end to end ownership.

Job Scope:

  • Leads high complexity programs defined at the PayPal senior leadership
  • Partner on strategic direction on programs with internal senior business, product, technology leadership on large scale efforts.
  • Integral part of strategic planning efforts for both internal and business driven program.

    Input is critical in setting roadmap to meet the need of customers.

  • Valued partner on PayPal Credit initiatives, works on high complexity programs defined at the PayPal Credit senior leadership level.
  • Frequently interfaces with PayPal Credit leaders within and outside of team
  • Has established working relationships that enable self-direction in gathering requirements and scoping work.
  • Point of contact for program escalations
  • Ensure measurable KPIs are developed for the program, and that they align to the overall KPIs for the Portfolio.
  • Identify program impediments and address including proper escalation to individuals/groups as needed
  • Lead program retrospectives and commitment to improvement on a regular cadence

  • Provides leadership to others, including senior members of project teams.
  • Participates with leadership to determine direction and objectives of a project.

Skills:

  • Business Acumen: Good understanding of how businesses operate (both internal and external) including current and possible future business trends and information.

    Strong awareness of how the program will improve the product, and the product will make a difference for PayPal’s customer.

    Is able to derive creative solutions to help scrum teams and the program remove impediments.

    Develops and presents varied and unique approaches to help teams meet their goals.

  • Strategic Planning: Anticipates future consequences and trends accurately.

    Paints credible pictures of possibilities and approaches to achieve goals and mitigate consequences.

  • Comfort around High Management: Deals comfortably with Senior Director and VP level stakeholders.

    Understands how senior managers think and work.

    Is able to adjust communications to Executive audiences, broad stakeholder audiences, and working teams as appropriate.

  • Negotiating: Reaches appropriate resolution across peers and extended teams in many varied situations without damaging internal or external relationships

Typical Background Guidelines:

  • BS/BA degree required.
  • Large Software Development Effort/Large Programs management experience required.
  • 10 + years professional related experience required.
  • Agile lifecycle management experience preferred.
  • Prior track record of leading transformation efforts
  • Experience with agile software development program management
  • Strong communication skills at multiple levels of the corporate structure
  • Ability to build strong relationships to achieve outcomes within a matrixed structure
