Global Commercial Services Technology AI CoE is seeking an Sr.
Engineering Manager to lead our ML team to deliver capabilities that will enable Commercial Platform Strategy.
You’ll work with product managers to help define product direction, provide thought leadership on emerging technologies and create best of breed experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Function as senior member of an Agile team helping drive consistent development practices (tools, common components, and documentation).
- Working closely with AI/ML teams, Data Scientists and Product Owners in analyzing business features and refining them to appropriately support design and build activities.
- Develop GCS ML Product & Platform Architecture working closely with technical architects and architecture governance teams.
- Get involved in technical development within GCS AI CoE usecases including architecture, design, develop ML models, create reusable ML artifacts, and performing needed testing of the AI/ML artifacts.

- Setup and lead the way in implementing Software development practices including but not limited to CI/CD Pipeline, ML Model deployments, exposing Model as a Service and more.

– 70% of the time spent on coding and/or hands-on technical implementation of ML solutions.
- Enabling the deployment, support, and monitoring of software across test, integration, and production environments
- Combine Data Science and Engineering skills to solve interesting problems that directly and greatly impact millions of businesses worldwide
- Help craft the direction of machine learning and artificial intelligence at AmEx
- Drive Cross-functional collaboration with peer technology and product teams across the company to deliver high-impacting products
- Promote use of new technologies & products to solve business needs and improve productivity
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering and 12+ years of equivalent experience in related disciplines
- Experience with design and development of AI/ML applications
- Proven record of designing and developing AI/ML usecases and end-to-end ML products
- Hands-on coding experience in Python or equivalent language and expertise in Big Data Technologies including Hive, Spark.
- Preferred working experience in Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, MAPR (plus), NoSQL) and Machine Learning Algorithms.
- Successful design, creation, and deployment of one or more enterprise-grade technology assets, including integration of cross-platform solutions in an Agile product environment
- Experience with agile software development methodologies and practices such as Scrum/Kanban, iterations, user stories, PI.
- Expertise in software engineering as well as software development methodologies
- Ability to clearly communicate and collaborate well with technical and non-technical partners
- Ability to drive code review and change review sessions to ensure changes are of acceptable quality.
- Good understanding of Change Management, Problem Management and Incident Management processes a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in Agile development, DevOps, Ci/CD, application design, software development, and testing.
