JOB SUMMARY: Work with clients and colleagues to lead strategic initiatives relating to employee benefits.
Provide guidance and direction to clients with complex needs (generally medium to large sized clients).
Actively conduct detailed analyses, lead client meetings and presentations, and oversee clients’ needs.
Maintain necessary level of knowledge to lead team projects as well as participate as part of team in projects.
Participate in sales initiatives.
Represent OneGroup as a leader in our market.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with new prospects and existing clients to develop understanding of their needs and assist with solutions and program recommendations.
Oversee the completion of any required account set up, including all required contracts and agreements, depending on client engagement type.
Create and deliver client presentations, work with Boards or Leadership teams.
Advise team on various related projects and participate as contributing member of team for client initiatives.
Provide customer service with problem solving and troubleshooting for clients and employees as requested.
Ensure that programs perform as expected.
Assist internal consultants with existing client servicing and new business leads to provide direction and coaching.
Identify opportunities for new sales or cross selling potential.
Participate in finalist meetings, as needed.
Conduct research and provide best practice information to clients.
Lead projects with minimal oversight.
Effectively understand the scope of each project to be able to generate a proposal.
Conduct and lead Assessments for clients and provide best practice and benchmarking insights.
Review and make recommendations to Executive-level management for improvements to employee benefit programs.
Effectively negotiate and process timely and accurate renewals.
Gather the necessary information for renewals as well as identify new business opportunities.
Obtain quotes and provide alternative options as needed.
Develop complete understanding of all benefit programs offered and underwriting guidelines of the various employee benefit carriers.
Maintain awareness of new products developed, program changes or laws and regulations that affect benefit programs and communicate their impact with clients.
Understand complex funding arrangements and use this knowledge to proactively manage client accounts.
Handle high level client needs independently.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Education: Four Year College degree in Business Administration or Human Resources or similar Professional Certifications/Licenses: Life and Health license PHR or SPHR, preferred (or SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) Experience/Skills: Minimum of ten years of progressive Benefits experience Thorough knowledge of Benefits practices, Federal/State laws and regulations Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents and situations An orientation toward helping clients identify and solve problems Confidence in skills and approach to deliver difficult concepts and solutions Creativity, analytical skills and results-oriented nature Strong oral and written communication skills as well as organizational skills Exceptional computer skills Exceptional presentation skills Committed to providing excellent customer service Work independently and be resourceful in supporting projects and tasks as needed Successfully manage multiple tasks/projects, meeting defined deadlines Ability to work effectively and efficiently with team members Ability to successfully coach and mentor employees PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
