Senior Cost Manager

We currently have a great assignment for a Senior Cost Manager. This individual will support our client, a cost and project management firm in Alexandria, VA with projects throughout the country. Job Responsibilities

The Senior Cost Manager will become a part of our client’s Construction Cost Management team in Alexandria, VA. This person will be responsible collaborating between Cost Managers and Projects Managers, influencing every step of the construction decision-making process for each projects’ unique circumstances and continually improving the services provided to each client.

Responsibilities of the Senior Cost Manager include:

• Create cost estimates at all stages of a project life-cycle from feasibility, concept, design, pre-bid to detailed estimates of labor, material and equipment breakdowns
• Manage and lead a team of estimators
• Manage change order request
• Write complex business documents such as reports and detailed letters
• Perform quality control and assurance on cost estimates
• Interface with clients and manage key accounts as needed
• Assist with bid and life-cycle analysis and other economic studies

Specific qualifications for the Senior Cost Manager include:

• Bachelor’s degree in a construction related discipline
• Ten (10) or more years of cost management experience on medium to large scale construction projects
• Ten (10) or more years of architectural, structural and civil disciplines ideally with a working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
• Proficiency in proprietary government estimating software programs to include:
  • Bluebeam, PlanSwift, 2nd Generation MCASES (MII), and RSMeans, most recent versions
• Potential travel one to two times per year overseas for State Department or U.S military projects
• Valid Driver’s License
• Authorized to work in the US
