Senior Content Marketing Manager

Recurly, Inc.

This is a Full-time position in Boulder, CO posted January 2, 2022.

This role will be leading high-profile content marketing campaigns including developing creative strategy, positioning, and key creative materials while also both collaborating and spearheading campaign management and execution across all platforms.

The successful candidate possesses a balanced blend of strategic and analytical thinking, excellent time management, strong understanding of the fintech space, marketing acumen, and cross-functional project management skills.

You bring a combination of content optimization across long-form (ebooks, reports, whitepapers, solution briefs) and short-form (blogs, articles) content, and the mindset of working hands-on with external entities to scale up our content offerings.

You look at the Demand Gen strategy holistically, understand how content drives engagement, and can align the content strategy accordingly.

You are comfortable working with content management systems.

You are the type of person who wants to be a part of a cross-functional team with a strategic mindset to enable marketing, business development, partners and product teams as we work together to achieve our aggressive goals.

You obsess over finding new ways to shorten time to value for our customers and time to revenue for the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Build and execute a content strategy and editorial calendar with engaging and relevant content for our customers and prospects
  • Understand and report on what content is effective for driving engagement, opportunities to improve; collaborate with the rest of the marketing team to share learnings, offer creative feedback, and lean into the team’s mission
  • Own the Recurly blog, including ideation, cadence, proofreading, copy-editing, publishing and collaboration
  • Write and manage content including the blog, ebooks, cheat sheets or videos to be used for demand gen and ABM programs
  • Utilize and interpret research and audience insights to develop the creative strategy and campaigns
  • Optimize and build our content tagging across all content assets, and close collaboration with our SEO lead to optimize content for SEO
  • In-depth involvement and execution around our website content and messaging, as well as ideation around narratives and flows within
  • Management of a contract team of freelancers across content creation needs
  • Collaboration with teams within and outside marketing around survey insights
  • Involvement in execution around our content management system
  • Be the subject matter expert for across-the-funnel messaging as pertains to buyer personas and content, and articulate the vision and strategy in a consumable format
  • Close partnership with internal teams to drive consistency of our content across the website, blog and our paid campaigns; Partner closely with social, editorial, partnerships, PR and content teams on the development and execution of 360 campaigns
  • Bring best in class practices to the organization by keeping abreast of latest trends in content development both within our industry and also from outside
  • Supervise multiple internal and external resources, vendors, agencies and freelancers in the development of assets and campaign activations
  • Have an eye for design and love working with our design partners to bring ideas to life
  • Deliver big creative ideas that break-through in a cluttered, competitive consumer landscape
  • Take bold swings with creative ideas grounded in strategy and insights

Requirements

  • 5+ years creative marketing and/or creative agency experience
  • Strong communication, presentation skills and positive team collaboration is a must
  • Understanding of organic & paid social, media and overall strategic 360 planning
  • Strong, demonstrated passion for writing and storytelling
    – copywriter skills a plus
  • 7+ years in content marketing, product marketing or similar role
  • 2+ years of experience in payments / fintech / financial services preferred
  • Have a knack for simplifying the complex and take feedback in stride
  • Understand the role of content and copy within marketing campaigns, product marketing, organic social, and corporate messaging
  • Demonstrated experience in enabling marketing optimization through content
  • Experience using project management tools for content collaboration
  • Familiarity with CMS usage in terms of making web page edits and updates
  • Hands-on experience with Growth MarTech stack and ability to lobby for critical tooling needs
  • Ability to collaborate across teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to own and execute with a freelance contract budget as needed
  • Technically capable, excellent communicator, with a desire to improve processes

Boulder, CO

Estimated annual base salary for this role may range from $106,000
– $139,000 DOE
