As a Senior Consultant of the Consulting and Management Development (CMD) team you will be responsible for supporting and leading key initiatives across AIG Life & Retirement. You may manage several key project initiatives or participate in a full-time assignment in a functional business area. You may perform many functions including Strategy Development, Research and Analysis, Process Reviews and Redesign, implementing improvements and change; along with providing Consulting and Project Management services to senior leaders across the organization. Organizational Structure

The CMD team is a Shared Service within AIG Life & Retirement. The position is located in Houston, TX (other locations include New York, NY and Los Angeles, CA), but may also serve other company locations. The CMD team is comprised of 8 staff positions. The typical career path within CMD is Senior Consultant to Managing Consultant to Associate Director. After 2 – 4 years in the CMD team, Consultants seek and place into key staff or leadership positions around the organization.

Goals

  • The Strategic Goal is to develop future leadership talent for AIG Life & Retirement. The key component is to identify and attract new talent into the organization, provide broad exposure to the organization and knowledge depth through assignments and provide opportunities to network and build relationships.
  • The Operational goal is to provide professional skilled resources to the organization to execute key initiatives which enhance revenue, create operational efficiency, reduce cost, and support creativity and innovation.

About the role

We want to hear from you today if you can:

  • Consulting, Strategy, Research and Analysis. Provide business consulting support for key initiatives. Conduct research and analysis on the business, obtain competitive information and synthesize findings into actionable recommendations or strategies.
  • Project Management. Coordinate and/or lead cross-functional and key initiatives in support of company strategic goals. Project activities may include: initiation, scope definition, business case development, execution approach; governance, and close out.
  • Business Process Review and Redesign. Identify and document current business processes workflows, recommend improvements, lead improvement implementation.

What we are looking for

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or similar degree required and 5 years professional experience.
  • Professional consulting and project management experience required.
  • Record of increasing responsibilities and demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Excellent organization skills, ability to multi-task and set priorities and manage multiple projects involving all levels and across departments and multiple locations.
  • Excellent communication skills – oral, written presentation, and business writing.
  • Analytical aptitude – research, analyze, synthesize, and recommend and implement innovative and creative solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – easily build relationships, team build, and network across departments and with all levels in the organization.
  • US or permanent residency required including U.S. work experience.
