Senior Analyst, Project Management

Manages projects, or workstreams within a larger project, that span across the project management life cycle (initiating/defining; planning; executing; close-out) in support of Internal Agency strategic imperatives.

Will also perform some project work, such as discovery, scoping, research, and analysis.

Works with a high degree of autonomy and limited direction from manager on more complex tasks and serves as a thought partner for manager.

At least 75% of time is spent on the following responsibilities:
Leads the organization and ongoing monitoring of large workstreams, including but not limited to managing larger sized projects, and leading discovery and scoping for moderately complex projects and initiatives.

Will also work closely with manager to tie the progress of in-flight work to long-term roadmaps and vision.

Owns or contributes to identifying the business need and building business case for potential new projects.

Works to gather and incorporate input from stakeholders, and to create alignment with strategic imperatives.

Identifies and gains agreement on project objectives, scope, timing, and resourcing.

Works with team members and stakeholders to gain alignment and plan activities/tasks that will deliver the desired results; oversees day-to-day work, monitoring of progress towards project-specific goals as well as strategic roadmap.

Conducts project meetings and ensures all stakeholders are appropriately informed regarding project progression, accomplishments, and any issues in need of resolution.

Effectively utilizes existing stakeholder touchpoints, as well as initiating any additional meetings to ensure alignment.

Identifies, escalates and works to resolve issues that serve as roadblocks and/or place project objectives at risk.

Provides visibility into potential trade-offs between options and identifies a recommended path forward.

In addition to project management, will also help to organize and monitor the in-flight work of a complex imperative; will serve as a thought partner to help transform the strategic vision into execution for one or more Internal Agency imperatives; will take learnings from in-flight projects to their manager to inform/iterate the strategic vision for strategic imperatives going forward.

Performs project close-out steps to include identifying lessons learned/best practices to inform the success of future projects.

Applies continuous improvement methodologies throughout the project management lifecycle.

Provides guidance to less experienced staff.
