We are looking for a full-time Sales Manager in our San Rafael, CA location.Job Type: Full-time, non-exempt, Hourly base + commission after training periodThe Sales Manager is responsible for generating sales growth and customer satisfaction through inspired leadership of the sales team.
As a Sales Manager, you lead with a “we” versus “me” mindset and are known to be an expert listener.
Sales Managers are expected to do this by setting an optimistic mood on the sales floor, always finding ways to motivate your team and by developing their skills as sales professionals.In partnership with the Store Manager, the Sales Manager is the main contact for customer service resolutions and you are empowered to solve problems quickly and courteously within company guidelines.
You demonstrate expertise with the consultative selling process and de-escalation skills when handling customer and employee relations issues.

To be known for the highest level of customer service and teamwork in the furniture industry.What You Will DoSales Managers are the champion of the sales team always working towards their success.Under the direction of the Store Manager, lead the sales growth and profitability of your store through the results of your team and your personal sales.Own the customer resolution process for customers and the sales team always focused on timely solutions.
Provide exceptional customer care in a manner that models a positive attitude and enthusiasm for our furniture assortment and services.Act as the MOD (Manager on Duty) in absence of the Store Manager.Know the Numbers!
You will audit the undelivered sales report to identify opportunities to improve order value, average items per invoice, invoice accuracy, delivered sales and accuracy of accounting.Recruit, train and coach Sales Associates and Store Support Associates as directed by your Store Manager and your own professionalism.Schedule and administer the training of new sales associates per the New Associate Manual.
This entails:Conducting the 30-60-90 day skill assessment for all new sales associates during their probationary period.
As the Sales Manager, the quality and success of new hire training will be attributed to you.Managing the Pass/Fail test of all new sales associates and sales assistants.Partner with the Store Manager to establish and communicate all critical metrics and expectations within the store including but not limited to sales, visual, operations, safety, loss prevention, inventory management, human resources, payroll/scheduling and training.Administer the quarterly SMART goal session for a minimum of two Sales Associates.
This includes the monthly progress discussions and brainstorming ideas for goal revision if/when needed.Collaborate with the Store Manager, Visual and Warehouse Manager to plan and support the weekly merchandising efforts, customer delivery and pick-up processes, warehouse and bookkeeping processes.Demonstrate full knowledge of company policy and procedure.
This extends to:Staying current with company communication, advertising and marketing promotions.Ensuring company policy and procedures are understood and accurately followed by all team members.Guaranteeing all store safety standards and training are enforced, up to date and maintained.Handling accurate payroll reporting and scheduling as well as understanding month-end and year-end reports and processes.Bring excitement to your training sessions whether weekend meetings or new associate training.Develop product expertise.Perform other special projects or duties when assigned.Who You AreExperienced in commission and performance based sales environments with a demonstrated success in personal sales, teambuilding and excellence in customer service.An expert listener.A crisp and clear communicator:Verbally and in writing.Ability to and masterful at calming down heated situations (customers and employees)Energized by goal achievement and team play.Have experience and/or passion for interior design is highly appreciated.Capable with a variety of software programs, applications etc.
including DOS based, menu driven systems.Practice common sense.
Know how to apply it and actively use it.Able to use reasonable and effective decision-making skills in a constantly changing environment.Valid driver’s license in a state where the store is located.Able to work a companion of days, evenings and weekends.Schedule includes weekends, some evenings, holiday work, and retail “black-out” periods.Standing and walking most of the day.Some lifting and assisting lifting for floor displays and merchandise settings (30 lbs.).Some bending, kneeling and stopping.Light cleaning, vacuuming, dusting.Working with hand tools for assembliesOccasional travel to customer sites and meetings.Our positions require successfully completing the pre-employment background check and signing a nondisclosure agreement.Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
