Sales Manager Trainee

Express Employment Professionals – Headquarters

This is a Full-time position in Minneapolis, MN posted September 18, 2021.

As a Sales Manager Trainee within the Emerging Entrepreneur Program, you will work in various roles within an Express office preparing to become a future leader of Express Employment Professionals. In this program you will participate in classroom, online and on the job training with an assigned mentor franchise office. This program will focus on business to business sales both outside/inside sales, staffing/recruiting, as well as leadership management. After successful completion you will be equipped to lead, manage, and grow business with any organization.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Ability to perform day to day, business to business sales activities to identify and close on new prospective clients within franchise territory

· Entrepreneurial mind set with the desire to grow a business within staffing industry

· Ability to develop/follow a sales plan and meet/exceed quotas/metrics set to within Express Fast Track Program

· Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Self-motivated and ability to provide exceptional customer service

· Must have the ability to motivate, train, and coach others

· Must be willing to relocate anywhere within the United States or Canada

· Ability to use the automated systems to prepare sales plan and identify prospective clients

· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel

· Must maintain a valid state driver’s license. Constant travel and exposure to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions

· Must be able to work effectively under stress, meet deadlines, and work with clients to handle any unforeseen issues

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree (Business, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Communications, and/or related field)

Minimum of 2 year of sales experience with proven quantifiable track record (Inside, Outside, and/or Business to Business Sales experience required). Staffing/Recruiting industry experience preferred

Job Requirements:

Duties/Responsibilities: You will participate in Classroom, Online, and (especially) On-the-Job training with an assigned mentor franchise office.   This program will focus on the position of Outside Sales (9 Months), Inside Sales/Employment Specialist (6 Months) and well as Leadership Management.  

·       Sales: Primary emphasis on bringing in new business.  This is done by prospecting new business leads, qualifying business opportunities, and contacting key decision makers. Ability to make a combination of 100 sales calls weekly, including phone and in-person visits, which include 60 face to face decision maker calls. This will require consultative selling techniques and effective communicatioskills, both questioninand listening techniques. As well as the disciplinto be persistent while following a daily and weekly plan and demonstrating the desire and drive to become a top performing sales professional.

·       Recruiting: Develop skills to identify quality job seekers and move them through our recruiting process.  Learn how to create a positive experience for job seekers that builds a brand around associates for life.  Build knowledge around recruiting platforms to find job seekers.

·       Operations: Develop an understanding of efficient ways to process payroll, manage workers compensation claims and maintain accounts receivable.  Become familiar with preferred vendors, and systems to keep your business at the top of the staffing industry. Thorough knowledge of temporary, evaluation to hire, and direct hire placement policies and employment-related laws.

·       Leadership: People development is critical to be successful as an Express leader.  You will learn how to hire, train, and lead a franchise office. You will develop skills on holding the team accountable, understand the connection between lead and lag indicators and the importance of building a culture around sales, recruiting and service.
