SCHEDULE:  Flexible Day Shifts Mon – Fri. With Holiday And Weekend On-call Rotation (Via Telephone)

Ascension Genesys Hospital is a 410 bed, state-of-the-art community teaching hospital with expanded clinical expertise in neurosciences, orthopedics, geriatric services, and oncology. We have a level 2 Emergency Trauma Center with a Cardiac Rapid Diagnostic Center, the Heart Institute and the Family Birthing Center.   
 

Our Surgery Department has 23 Operating Rooms and a team of more than 100 dedicated medical professionals handling a full range of general and specialty surgeries including robotic procedures, open heart, minimally invasive procedures, pediatric, vascular, ortho, and much more.  Ascension Genesys Hospital offers the latest in advanced surgical technology.  Our robotics program covers multiple services including General, GYN, Oncology, Thoracic, and Urology.

What You Will Do

As an Associate with Ascension Genesys Hospital, you will have the opportunity to manage activities, workflow and nursing resources of assigned nursing unit(s).

Responsibilities:

• Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements for self and within unit.
• Conducts hiring, training, directing, development and evaluating of staff.
• Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of patient care services for the assigned unit(s). Develops and implements policies and procedures to guarantee efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit.
• Monitors and adheres to budget. Approves or monitors expenditures, purchases and other actions to ensure compliance with budget guidelines.

What You Will Need

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. 
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing .  

Education:

• Diploma 
  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing with experience required

Work Experience:

• 3 years of experience required.
• 1 year of leadership or management experience required.
• Experience working in an OR / Surgery unit preferred
