nnFunctions independently in a moderate to larger research setting of CHOP’s Division of Human Genetics and responsible for overseeing research related activities and projects for a particular program(s), by providing leadership and ensuring implementation of sponsored project activities and grant management for CHOP and all other participating research sites.
Support Division Chief, Research Director, Division PIs and Division Administrator in managing divisional research activatesnn nnJob Responsibilitiesnn nnManages division research budgets and discretionary accounts in accordance with established guidelines.nn nnMeets regularly with research institute business office, Center Administrators and finance personnel regarding budgets, income, contracts and expenses.Develops, maintain, and presents Workday reports on research activity within the divisions.Advises principal investigators on the preparation of study budgetsEngages with Marketing and Public Relations on supporting ways to advance the Division’s research brand in publications, digital media, speaking opportunities, and other forms of advertising. Primary contact for sponsored research projects for internal and external participants.Tracks research activity compliance of CHOP and other sites.Applies knowledge of NIH SF424 guidelines including application and reporting requirements, human subjects research definitions and exemption qualifications, Federal Codes, Regulations and Guidelines relevant to the performance and conduct of research projects.Provides supervision and support for other research coordinators and or/ research and administrative staff who are assigned to specific research projects and who will help with the overall research of the program.Provides a leadership role in developing, implementing, and evaluating the conduct of research.Responsible for application and reporting compliance for research program.Assists with compilation of data and preparation of grants, scientific presentations, and progress reports as needed.Serves as primary liaison between research and other staff to carry out the needs of the research project(s).nn nnRequired Education and Experiencenn nnRequired Education: Bachelors in related fieldnn nnRequired Experience: 5-7 years’ experience in clinical researchnn nnRequired Licenses, Certifications, Registrationsnn nnPreferred Education, Experience & Cert/Licnn nnPreferred Education: Masters in related fieldnn nnPreferred Experience:nn nn3 years of experience in research administration or managing a research group, including budget administration, financial planning, and grants management.Experience in an academic institution strongly preferred.1-2 years of supervisory experience in a research environment.Additional Technical RequirementsExcellent customer service and time management skills required.
