Job Summary
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for all aspects of Solar Plant services contracting process including market research, supplier analysis, selection strategy, final negotiation, purchasing and inventory of materials, selection of vendors, and distribution of products therefore experience in Solar (PV) is essential.
The role will also include evaluation of performance, forecasting needs, and production scheduling too.
Responsibilities
Drive continuous improvement to processes including, but not limited to procurement and supply chain.
Lead engagements and strategic vendor partnerships.
Provide performance metrics relative to the department.
Develop and actively manage supplier performance metrics.
Execute key financial initiatives through effective negotiations and development of contracts.
Provide timely and accurate cost forecasts of key materials to stakeholders.
Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain the resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain.
Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain.
Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase the efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.
Develops policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implements subsequent changes to processes.
Negotiates prices for raw material and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies.
Serve as a liaison between Procurement, Development, Environmental, Energy.
Assessment, Engineering, Project Management, Operations, and Asset Management departments
Requirements
Bachelors degree or other relevant fields; or equivalent experience/combined education
3-5+ years of experience in supply chain management/procurement or buyer
Proven track record of contract negotiations
Track record in renewable energy
– preferably solar /EPC
Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop high-performance work teams
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers
Thorough understanding of company products and logistics
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Location: Remote working is acceptable for this role.
Position may require periodic trips to Richmond, VA for team meetings.
