Race Manager/Sales Director

This is a Full-time position in Atlanta, GA posted December 5, 2021.

Looking for a person with sales experience and/or event promotion to serve as Race Manager for an Obstacle Course Race (OCR) event in Atlanta, GA.

This is a full-time, year-round position.

The Race Manager is responsible for promotion of the event and sellout of registrations.

Qualifications
3 – 5 years sales or event promotion experience required
Bachelor’s degree preferred; marketing and business majors are most desirable
Must reside in or near the city hosting the event
Strong networks within the community desired
Athletic with knowledge of OCR industry is desired
Military background helpful, although not required
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Use all means available to sell out the race.

Market segments include businesses, sports clubs, youth groups, gyms and other similar segments.
Conduct necessary research and coordination to get onto all local sports event calendars.
Reach out to colleges and universities to work with student groups that may wish to participate in or promote the event.
Contact local media outlets to promote event.

Provide coordination between Marketing Director and local media to ensure maximum exposure.
Develop relationships with local influencers.

This is a widely diverse group, consisting of coaches, community and business leaders, OCR enthusiasts, and a wide array of others.
Develop methods to create repeat racers.

These efforts will include setting up a tent on race day to promote participation in the following year’s event.
Maximize social media drivers.

Ideally, the person filling this position will have a degree of acumen in social media, but if they don’t, this person needs to know how to leverage those within his/her organization that make the best use of social media.
Gather information on businesses and corporations in their area that may have an interest in the event.
Coordinate with Marketing and IT to maximize following year registrations.

This action should take place as soon as possible after the current event.

Send emails to all participants offering a big discount for immediate sign up.
