In this role, you will define, plan, and ensure implementation of quality control strategies for ELIP ((Electrification Installation Products) distribution network, meeting business targets and aligning with ELIP distribution strategy.
Reporting to the VP of Distribution, and Inventory, you will oversee quality control across the ELIP distribution network.
Your responsibilities Manage Distribution quality activities including electronic shipping error database research and resolution, internal quality audits, random standard work audits, nuclear procurement issues corporation audits and all interface with manufacturing on quality issues for all sites in the Electrification Installation Products distribution network Lead a team of 5 supervisors and 50 hourly roles at 2 distribution locations Manage all aspects of the Resale quality function including receiving inspection, Preventative Action Response Request resolution, and coordination of required 8D corrective actions Interface with Product Line Management, Engineering, and Operations on all quality issues and the timely processing of Engineering Change Request ’s in support of product launches including coordination of first article inspections and initial production runs Work directly with manufacturing facilities as well as suppliers on all quality issues Manage all activities associated to the Labeling/Re-box operation Partner with distribution compliance manager to maintain ISO 9001, customs trade partnership against terrorism and nuclear procurement issues corporation certifications Optimize warehouse layouts and sku placements to reduce pick errors while maximizing productivity Lead distribution data analysis team to provide analytics on customer issues, order and operations trends to senior leadership Act as subject matter expert on quality components of the warehouse management software for the Information Technology systems upgrade projects Manage US returns center including coordinating with business commercial leadership to enforce all corporate returns policies Investigate all customer issues within a 48-hour window including approving required credits and root cause analysis as required by ABB policies Partner with corporate dispute resolution and accounts receivables teams to settle all distribution related claims Partner with the Compliance manager to develop employee training and certification programs in support of operations Maintain all required reporting in support of the quality activities Your background Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or related majors with 5 years of experience in logistics, manufacturing, and or quality field working as manager or leadership position with relevant receiving, auditing experience.
Must be analytical and well organized.
Strong background in mainframe and PC based applications with focus on TOPS, KBM, and Microsoft Office.
A collaborative, solution-focused approach, with strong written and spoken communication skills, as well as relationship-building skills.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
Must be a good communicator with the ability to motivate others towards a common set of objectives.
Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
