– EastPosition Summary / Career Interest:The Prospect Research Manager is responsible for implementing and maximizing tools and methods that support effective prospecting to enhance fundraising efforts for annual and major giving initiatives, including mailings, emails, programs, and portfolio management.

The Prospect Research Manager will work closely with Data & Insights, Annual Giving & Communications, and Major Gift teams to generate strategy for segmentation, goal setting, metrics, and analysis.

The Prospect Research Manager is required to have strong relationship building skills and be able to deliver superior research and reporting services to maximize the financial support to the health system.

This position manages one FTE and reports to The Associate Development Director of Data & Financial Systems.Position Description:* Manage Prospect Research team to conduct in-depth research and screening to find and interpret biographical data, career, finances, wealth indicators, interests, family information, giving patterns, philanthropic history, etc., for current and prospective donors, including individuals, corporations and foundations* Develop and maintain clear Prospect Management Guidelines.* Develop, manage, and prioritize donor research activities including, individual prospect lists requests, annual giving donor cultivation, daily Grateful Patient lists, and prospecting to support various campaigns, initiatives, projects, and events.* Meets regularly with the Senior Director of Major Giving to help discover, classify and strategically manage current and prospective donors.* Manage opportunities, actions, and prospecting data to ensure accurate reporting and portfolio management.* Meets regularly with Annual Giving & Communication’s team to review Annual Giving campaign performance and segmentation strategy for mailings and emails.* Grow and maintain the Grateful Patient Program (GPP) to increase strategy and research for inpatient and outpatients interested in giving to the health system.* Develop Major Gift metrics and reporting through Raiser’s Edge NXT to reflect progress toward goals, including progress on number of visits, dollars raised, deferred gifts documented, and significant contacts made.* Manage a transparent prospect assignment process that demonstrates the criteria by which the prospects will be assigned and ensure the flow of prospects to gift officer portfolio is efficient.* Monitor fundraising activity and progress for continuity and compliance with the Prospect Management Guidelines.* Works with the Manager, Data & Insights to generate, analytics, data mining, predictive modeling and other appropriate metrics for strategy and business needs.* Works with the Manager, Data & Insights to ensure prospect data remains confidential and secure.* Liaise with prospect research and data service team members to share information about managed prospects to build an understanding of fundraising metrics and to provide the information that supports the management of prospects through the development cycle.JOB REQUIREMENTSRequired:* Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and experience.* 3-5 years of experience in donor and prospect research in a not-for-profit fundraising environment required.* Knowledge of techniques and methodologies of donor and prospect research using both online and traditional print sources.* 3+ years of non-profit database experience;* Strong experience with, and knowledge of data best practices;* Detail oriented and extremely well organized while able to understand and apply big-picture* concepts;* Strong written and oral communication skills;* A high degree of appropriateness and ability to maintain confidentiality;* Ability to manage and streamline processes in a complex and diverse environment;* Excellent time management skills and an ability to work in a deadline-driven environment;* Strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work across teams, as well as independently;Preferred:* Experience preparing polished donor research packages, presentations, and other materials.* Experience with Raiser’s Edge and fundraising systems preferred; Experience with Blackbaud products specifically, strongly preferred;* Experience in healthcare fundraising operations.* Bachelor’s Degree.Time Type:Full timeJob Requisition ID:R-5004Need help finding the right job?We can recommend jobs specifically for you!
