Project Manager/Senior Project Manager

A&B Process Systems, a business unit of JBT Corporation, is an industry leader in the design, fabrication, automation and installation of stainless steel process systems used in a variety of industries. At A&B Process Systems, our quality stainless steel process vessels, stainless steel process modules, skidded systems and process automation systems are all developed at one location in Stratford, Wisconsin. We have an immediate opportunity for a Senior Project Manager.  This position will be located in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.  

Position Summary:

The role of the Sr. Project Manager is to plan, execute, and close large and complex projects according to agreed upon customer requirements, on-time and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of the customer, team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan.  The Sr. Project Manager will also document the project’s objectives and oversee cost and quality throughout its life cycle.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Once assigned a project, the Sr. Project Manager will direct and manage project activity throughout the project life cycle; from initiation through closing.
  • Document project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with our customer and stakeholders.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communication documents as required including:

 

  • Project Objective
  • Scope of Work
  • Manufacturing Design Criteria
  • Project Cost: Estimate, Summary and Detail
  • Forecast
  • Timetable and Schedule
  • Organizational Chart and Accountabilities
  • Project Plan Drawings
  • Project Procedures
  • Risks & Assumptions
  • Tracking Issues and Lessons Learned
  • Associated Documentation according to cGMP/ASME BPE and GAMP5 as required by project requirements.
  • Effectively communicate project requirements to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Plan the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Track estimated versus actual costs against work performed while monitoring scope requirements and recommend and track change requests balancing customer service with budget responsibilities
  • Track planned work versus actual work and review impact if any to overall project timeline by analyzing impact to critical path. Report to stakeholders as required both the schedule variance percent as well as the impact if any to the critical path
  • Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle. Where required coordinate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables
  • In conjunction with the project team, customer and other stakeholders, document and manage project issues utilizing a Project Issue Log.
  • In conjunction with the project team, customer and other stakeholders, document, manage [avoid, mitigate, accept, or share] project risks utilizing a Project Risk Log.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team and between the project team and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations as needed.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks, and devise contingency plans.
  • Define and track project success metrics and communicate success metrics to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and facilitate project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Build, develop, and grow business relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Conduct project closeouts and create a recommendations report in order to successful and unsuccessful project elements. (Lessons learned)
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management and assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures in-line with industry and customer expectations.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time (and more as projects require) is a requirement of the position.

  • EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

 Bachelor’s Degree in business or technical fields, or equivalent experience in industry.

 

  • EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • 5 – 7 years of direct work experience in a project management capacity, encompassing the full project life cycle from project initiation through closing.
  • Strong familiarity with various project management software especially Microsoft Project 2016 or newer and ability to evaluate and assist with implementation of an on-line Project Management tool (e.g. SmartSheet, ProjectManager.com, LiquidPlanner or similar).
  • Database and operating systems experience.
  • Technically competent with various software programs.
  • Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in personnel management.
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
  • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
  • Flexible during times of change.
  • Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.
  • Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.
  • Ability to defuse tension among project team, should it arise.
  • Ability to bring project to successful completion through political sensitivity.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products.
  • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
  • Customer service skills an asset.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
  • Knowledge of the following industry standards:
    • ASME BPE
    • ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 for Pressure Vessels
    • Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
    • Good Automated Manufacturing Practices (GAMP)
  • Knowledgeable in:
    • Process Control System Architecture (PLC, SCADA, DCS)
    • Commissioning, Qualification and Validation (CQV) activities and documentation as they relate to the pharmaceutical and/or food industry.
