Project Manager / Senior Operations Engineer (Carderock)

This is a Full-time position in Bethesda, MD posted September 14, 2021.

The Project Manager / Sr.

Operations Engineer will be directly responsible for day-to-day performance of staff in meeting customer requirements and expectations.

Typical management tasking includes, but is not limited to:
• Participate in both formal and informal Government scheduled In-Progress Reviews (IPRs) of work being performed.

IPRs may be conducted at the overall Task Order level or for specific projects/work areas.
• Participate in periodic Task Prioritization Meetings with the Government representatives and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

The purpose of these meetings is to convey the Government’s technical program schedules and priorities and to identify corresponding task priorities.
• Assist with hiring process to ensure adequate staffing is maintained and process the necessary skills and education to ensure mission success.
• Manage and assist with the following tasking to include, but not limited to:
– Network operation and maintenance services, such as planning, designing, engineering, installation, configuration management, documenting, maintaining, and monitoring of teleconferencing, network communication devices, and associated elements that support core network functions and services; including, but not limited to: Cisco routers, Cisco switches, Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) firewalls, Cisco Access Control Server (ACS), Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Cisco SourceFire Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), and Zebra Technologies’ AirDefense Wireless Intrusion Detection and Prevention System.
– Server/system administration to include: planning, design, engineering, installation, configuration, documentation, maintenance, data protection, data recovery, and monitoring of workstations, servers, storage arrays, and associated elements of systems that support core server functions and services on a variety of networks.
– The design/installation of network infrastructure extensions and enhancements to include planning, design, engineering, installation, configuration management, documentation, and maintenance of network infrastructure extensions or modifications to include the network cable plant.
– Help desk and user support.
– Video Telecommunications (VTC)/Audio Visual (AV) activities too include minor maintenance (e.g.

projector filter, lamp or cable replacement), troubleshooting, repair, installation and configuration (i.e.

replacing broken components with Government-furnished replacements), setup, teardown, daily operations, training of Government personnel, and scheduling of associated resources.
– The coordination of NMCI service delivery to local remote site locations.
– Provide support for software applications and scripts.

– Data analysis, as well as management and preparation of IT approval documents and presentation materials.Required:The Project Manager/Senior Operations Engineer shall have, at a minimum, a graduate degree (master’s degree or above) from an accredited college/university, in computer engineering, electrical engineering, communications management, computer science, information technology, or communications systems.

In lieu of the graduate degree, the Project Manager/Senior Operations Engineer may have one of the following certifications:
• CNSSI 4012-4016 Certificate
• NDU CIO Certificate
• CISSP Certificate
• CISM Certificate
• GSLC
• CASP Certificate
• CCISO Certificate
• PgMP CertificateSECRET clearance is requiredPreferred:The Project Manager/Senior Operations Engineer shall have at least seven (7) years of combined experience in Cyber IT/ Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) position performing computer and networking project management to support Local Area Network (LAN) and systems which include network switches and routers, Ethernet (10BaseT and Gigabit), Fiber Optics, wireless networking, firewalls, client/host configurations, and Windows/Linux servers trouble shooting, testing and repair.

Work experience shall also include/demonstrate:
• Planning and directing tasks;
• Determining resource requirement and costs;
• Preparing schedules;
• Assigning work to subordinates;
• Monitoring progress of tasks and preparing progress reports;
• Reviewing products before they are delivered;
• Communicating with all levels of management orally and in writing;
• Management of network designs, installations, implementation of standards, and conversion and migration methodologies to enhance network technologies;
• Resolving complex problems that impact system availability; and
• Monitoring network performance and recommending improvements.
