Dykema Gossett PLLC, a leading national law firm, is recruiting for an experienced Administrative Assistant with skills in various practice areas for our Dallas office.
The Administrative Assistant will assist attorneys, paralegals, and other Administrative Assistants in providing quality legal services to clients, including preparation of correspondence, legal documents, electronic and non-electronic court filings; maintaining calendars, scheduling meetings, depositions; maintaining files and anticipating client needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides day-to-day support of attorneys, paralegals, and other Administrative Assistants in the preparation, recording, filing (both electronic and non-electronic) and transmittal of legal documents with various courts and other entities.
Types, revises, modifies all correspondence, memoranda, notes, outlines, legal documents, charts, forms, etc., whether from drafts, originals or dictation.
Enters new clients and matters into new business intake (NBI) software system.
Prepares and submits conflict check forms, screening forms and new matter request forms through NBI.
Sets up engagement letters.
Maintains and organizes files on request.
Enters and/or releases attorneys’ time, if required.
Maintains list of all current billing numbers for assigned timekeepers.
Answers and screens telephone calls.
Assists callers independently on a regular basis.
Exhibits the discretion to know when to contact the attorney concerning urgent or emergency calls and when to refer to another party.
Maintains calendars, including scheduling and reminding individuals of appointments and various other dates.
Makes travel arrangements.
Exercises independent judgment in determining priority levels of all work assigned on a daily basis.
Assures that high priority items are completed in a timely manner.
Assists other Administrative Assistants with work overflow.
Perform other responsibilities/tasks as requested.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
One to two years of post high school education equivalent.
Five or more years of related work experience in a law firm or corporate law setting.
Experience in multiple law practice areas is a plus.
Typing speed (adjusted for errors) 55 WPM or greater.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and organizational skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint) required.
Advanced skills in Word required.
Ability to be self-motivated and work independently.
High degree of confidentiality regarding clients, guests, documents, conversations, etc.
