At TA Instruments, the Production Supervisor position is a great leadership opportunity to join a world class analytical instrument manufacturer. The work environment is inclusive, team oriented and the customer is always our first priority.Typical tasks of the position include, but are not limited to* Position will be located in Eden Prairie, MN facility.* Directly supervises a group of instrument assemblers and/or technicians involved in the production of electroforce instruments ensuring that work is performed in accordance with established working procedures; trains, evaluates performance, and recommends disciplinary actions.* Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.* Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.* Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.* Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.* Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.The successful candidate will have a combination of knowledge, skills, and experience that would include the followingEducation:* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Production Management, or closely related fieldExperience:* 5+ years of Manufacturing related experience.* 2+ year of Supervisory experience in a Manufacturing Production environment.Skills:* Must have conflict resolution skills* Must embody leadership qualities to motivate and coach Manufacturing employees* Must have proficient skills in all Microsoft Suite products (Excel, Word, Power Point)* Must be able to travel when needed by car and plane (less than 10%)* High in interpersonal skills with other management team members* Ability to work in a high-pressure/high-pace manufacturing environment in order to meet Department goals* Must encourage a safe and qualitative manufacturing environment* Lean manufacturing mind-setCompany DescriptionAs the world’s leading supplier of thermal analysis and rheology systems, TA Instruments is a fast growing and highly profitable division of an S&P 500 company, priding itself in innovation and an uncompromising commitment to customer support.
