Job Summary: Responsibilities include management oversight of production, workload scheduling, policies/procedures management, provides production staffing assistance, performs production work as necessary and instills quality and safety consciousness among all production employees

Essential Job Duties:

• Oversee all production assignments to ensure quality control and maximum productivity of employees in accordance with production requirements
• Plan Production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products
• Review production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities and specifications of products to plan department operations
• Review production and operating reports and resolve operational, manufacturing and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays
• Encourage employee suggestions, develop safey awareness among employees and enforce all applicable safety regulations and company practices and procedures
• Supervise the maintenance of production equipment
• Performs production work as necessary
• Initiate and support the continual improvement of LKQ Corporation quality improvement system
• Assumes other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

Education and/or Experience: Minimum of three years foundry experience with Supervisory or Team Lead positions preferred. Experience in an aluminum foundry would be a plus. Experience with melt furnaces, ingot lines and bag house is required. 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Possess good communications and leadership skills. Have knowledge of and understand OSHA, “Right To Know” and all other applicable governmental regulatory agency programs, regulations and practices. Have supervisory background and demonstrated mechanical inclination. Must be familiar with the company’s products. Must be able to work in cooperation with others. Must be attentive to detail and ensure accuracy in work assignments. Must be able to communicate effectively with others. Must have the flexibility to work variable schedules, including weekends. Ability to effectively manage staff, budgets and production. 

Machines, Equipment, and Software: Forklift, ladder, telephone and Microsoft Office software

Physical Demands and Working Conditions: Should be able to tolerate high and low temperature levels. Should possess special skills in the operation of a forklift in negotiating the lift in close quarters

Preferred Qualifications: 

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent desired
• Forklift certification is beneficial
