POSITION SUMMARY:

Coordinate and facilitate the daily operations of Lodi Plastics Manufacturing team to provide vital resources, ongoing work direction and problem solving to ensure business goals in terms of safety, quality, productivity, on-time delivery to internal and external customers. Using a continuous improvement approach to ensure daily and company objectives are being met under the guidelines of the company policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage staff resources by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training, and developing associates for growth opportunities
  • Collaborate with Program Managers, Manufacturing, Tooling, and Manufacturing Engineering to support daily operations.
  • Improve the performance of Value Streams by implementing and sustaining lean conversion principles to meet customer requirements.
  • Develop and execute a strategy for improving the safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity (SQDIP) performance.
  • Report progress and vital countermeasures to achieve set goals through Daily Management walkthroughs.
  • Mentor and develop teams, facilitate individual and team growth
  • Utilize standard reports and visual management to clearly communicate production schedules, delays, and corrective action
  • Responsible for on-time delivery of product from respective work cells
  • Maintain workflow by supervising steps of the process; observing processes and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources, developing reporting procedures and systems in accordance with company guidelines to ensure success in meeting the Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Productivity goals.
  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Drive ever-improving results by using Danaher Business System (DBS) tools, consulting skills, and change management process.
  • Able to work independently with little supervision and direct work priorities of direct report supervisors and manufacturing associates
  • Provides input for capital expenditures for new equipment and facilities
  • Directly provide formal and informal DBS training and mentor
  • Support/Lead productive kaizen events and sustainment of critical metrics.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education or Experience (in years):

  • Bachelor’s degree with 9 years of experience
  • 5 to 7 years in an FDA/ISO regulated manufacturing environment; 5 years minimum in a leadership role
  • Extensive experience using continuous improvement tools and methodologies

Knowledge and skills:

  • Leadership: Willingness to work on the shop floor (Gemba) and lead by example; ability to influence decision making with or without authority, facilitate groups with diverse perspectives, bring teams to an agreement. High tolerance for ambiguity
  • Communication: Interpersonal skills that build positive relationships and influence others, both within the business and across organizations. Ability to interact with all levels of the business (senior leaders to working teams), exceptionally good listening skills, able to present sophisticated or new insights with clarity and simplicity
  • Teamwork: collaborate effectively with others in the spirit of common objectives
  • Planning and Execution: Excellent project management and prioritization skills. A proven eye for business. Able to deliver results despite shifting environment
  • Analytical Problem Solving: Able to identify problems; apply structured and disciplined methodology to identify root cause using data. Innovative and effective solution development, risk mitigation, and execution. Hands-on experience with most of the following Lean / Problem solving tools: Lean, Standard Work, Kaizens, PSP, etc.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS (optional):

  • Experience in a clinical diagnostic or medical device environment
  • Statistical, Lean, and Six Sigma training
  • Knowledge and experience with IQ, OQ, and PQ validations
  • cGMP/GLP experience is highly preferred
