Driven by a desire to create repeatable, efficient, stabile technical platforms, the Product Manger 3
– Technical is a customer champion for not only the clients of the platform, but the end users of the products that use the platform.

In this role, you will be responsible for a core functional area of the overall Credit Platform.

You will be responsible for building the vision, excitement about what the user needs, and the impact of your product to the customers and company.

In addition to producing well written business cases and directional outlines, you will be defining and providing context to the organization and teams.

You will create KPIs and outcome statements that drive the vision and direction of your functional area.

Day-to-day, as a core participant of a delivery team aligned to your functional area, you are vital to the ongoing velocity and evolution of the team.

You will be partnering with engineering leads to create well written user stories and acceptance criteria.

You will also be defining and providing context to the team with the goal of having the team being part of the solution.

The product manager will be available for the team to answer questions, work with developers to address technical challenges, align on priorities, and explain and/or change requirements based on new information from the developers.

In this role, you’ll work alongside the best and the brightest engineering talent in the industry.

You need to be dynamic, collaborative, and curious as we improve existing products and build the platform powering the top growth opportunity in PayPal.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, design, and build world-class credit products and solutions for the customers/users of the credit platform.

  • Define and articulate through narratives, presentations, and documentation the vision and direction of their product

  • Responsible for the performance of their product as well as define and measure KPIs related to it

  • Identify opportunities to improve their product and define the expected outcomes

  • Own the “what” and the “why” for a defined functional area of the credit platform and partner with engineering on the “how” and “when”

  • Work closely with multi-functional areas across PayPal and different regions, including business and marketing partners, legal, compliance and risk.

  • Work closely with development and project management teams in both a waterfall and agile environment.

  • Influence and manage roadmaps and backlogs and other typical agile processes and ceremonies

Job Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business and/or Computer Science

  • Solid understanding of consumer and business lending products (deep understanding of installment-based products or revolving credit products a bonus)

  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)

  • Ability to work with a wide range of functions ranging from business experts to developers

  • Understanding of basic software development principles and technologies (SQL, REST APIs, Events, MQ, etc) with an ability to translate technical solutions into product vision and customer impact

  • Ability to create API and technical documentation for developers and product owners to quickly understand features and capabilities

  • Familiarity with common Loan Management System providers (Fiserv, TSYS, Temenos) a plus

  • Delivering high quality platform products that meet customer needs
