Product Manager – Retail Payments- Remote

Position Summary
The Product Manager
– Retail Payments will drive an innovative and digital first payments strategy that consumers and small businesses are looking for.

In collaboration with business unit leaders and marketing, this person will be responsible for developing a payments and non-interest income road map along with owning the products throughout their life cycle.

This includes working with various vendors in the card and payments industry to evaluate solutions, working with business unit leaders to ensure alignment with business needs and collaborating with internal teams to move a solution form business case to product launch.

This position may also serve as the product champion and subject matter expert assisting the sales and marketing teams with promoting the solutions and partnering with others to ensure product performance and compliance.

A successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the payments industry, excel at working in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with others and will demonstrate a strong degree of digital dexterity.

Primary Accountabilities
Responsible for managing multiple projects with limited oversight, gathering requirements, writing business requirements documents, creating, and managing project plans, managing issues and risks.

Responsible for interfacing with the Retail banking, commercial banking, Operations, IT, Marketing, Compliance, and other areas inside and outside of the bank as needed.
Collaborate with business unit leaders to develop and maintain the payments program roadmap and annual business plans.
Develop a product lifecycle that focuses on creating a great cardholder experience
Champion and be the subject matter expert for the payments vision for team members and stakeholders
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the government regulations, Mastercard, and various network operating rules

Create strategies and best practice requirements for the handling of dispute and fraud processing.
Collaborate with business unit leaders to manage and lead the deposit account liquidity (overdraft) program.
Collaborates with business unit leaders to manage and lead the ATMaaS program.
Design product marketing, pricing, and distribution strategy for assigned products
Report creation and analyze data to inform priorities and decision-making.
Maintain knowledge of industry best fraud mitigation tools and trends
Manage vendor relationships including monitoring service-levels.
Communicate compliance or product changes and to stay abreast of day-to-day vendor communication.
Ensure complex cardholder issues are resolved with the goal of deepening cardholder loyalty.
Collaborate with other areas to implement changes that optimize the cardholder experience by enhancing member value
Build and sustain change by serving as a change agent, coach and educator.
Identify and lead the creation of internal and cross-functional trainings and communications.
Relationship Management
Partners with the commercial and retail teams to build a proactive banking culture that encourages cross-selling of Deposit and Treasury Management services.
Confirm sales teams are prepared to sell product /service (provide marketing, pricing, training)
Communicates launch date for products and enhancements with all stakeholders.
Responds to questions in a professional manner that conveys competence, respect, and the value of the relationship.
Acts as a go to person for product development and product assistance regarding functionality, use and value proposition.
Develops responses to Request for Proposals or bids, including pricing for banking products.

Risk Management and Control
Follows security and safeguard procedures to insure appropriate due diligence in accordance with Midland States Bank policy for the prevention of loss due to fraud, robbery, counterfeiting, money laundering or defalcation.
Maintains the confidentiality of both customer and Bank information ensuring compliance with Bank Policies & Procedures.
Understands risks and takes appropriate actions as they relate to TPS products, including all documentation, and any other requirements to maintain operational integrity.
Ensures operational integrity and compliance with all regulatory bodies.

Change and Innovation
Continuously upgrades skills and optimizes usage of tools provided to deliver high-quality service to the Treasury Management sales team and all stakeholders.
Continuously identifies opportunities to streamline / improve processes.
Collaborates with colleagues to share knowledge and best practices.

Position Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Two-Year Associate’s Degree
8 + years of experience in a banking environment
4+ years card program experience
Thorough knowledge of debit card, credit card, digital payments and deposit account fee income product offerings
Demonstrated history of Product Marketing and Management Strategy development and execution

Experience in planning and project execution.
Conversant with relevant consumer and commercial banking regulations
Thorough understanding of Risk Management principals and the impact new product development has within the bank’s infrastructure.
