Procurement Manager

Nutcracker Therapeutics is an early stage biotech disrupter founded to develop mRNA-based therapeutic drug products which will be manufactured on our novel microfluidic based manufacturing system.

Our manufacturing system is a fully automated, software-controlled microfluidics platform.

Our advanced technology-driven approach to therapeutics manufacturing addresses significant challenges associated with production and scale-up of therapeutic products.

Automation and microfluidics deliver significantly reduced production cycle times, increased process control, efficiency and reproducibility while greatly reducing manual manipulations, risks of contamination and costly facilities.

Through the introduction of breakthrough therapeutic micro factories, Nutcracker is poised to deliver on our mission to significantly improve patient’s lives.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of materials and services to support production requirements.

Establish MRP requirements to ensure alignment of goods and services plans to the support the master schedule as well as review of various ERP parameters related to the purchasing function.

Coordinate with suppliers, operations, customers, business development, project managers, and other appropriate stakeholders as necessary to monitor supply, identify potential problems, and resolve issues that may prevent on-time delivery for our programs.

Collaborate with external sourcing partners to ensure the optimal balance of supply assurance, supplier quality and cost.

Establish Supplier Relationship Management & Category management initiatives.

Manage supply base and measures supplier performance in order to drive appropriate improvement efforts.

Support the establishment of an inventory management system and process within an ERP system.

Communicate material delivery delays with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment with key stakeholders.

Align procurement practices and supply chain in support of the business strategy.

Develop collaborative/partnering relationships with key suppliers to promote processes that will reduce lead times, decrease costs, and ensure product and service quality improvement.

Establish Purchasing department procedures and practices, and studies workflow, sequence of operations, and office arrangement to improve workflow.

Identify the most cost and service effective sources for materials purchased for both manufacturing and development.

REQUIREMENTS
Candidates should have 5+ years’ of Production Planning, Purchasing, and/or Procurement using ERP systems in a GMP environment, Pharma/Biotech industry experience preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in related discipline, Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering related degree preferred.

APICS/ISM (CPSM)/Supply Chain certification preferred.

Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements.

Advanced materials management skills including Sourcing, Supplier Quality, Contract Administration Inventory Control, Supplier Selection and Technical Development, Transactional Management.

Experience procuring within a GMP manufacturing environment.

Ability to communicate in a professional and efficient manner at all levels of the company.

Strong project management skills with accurate attention to detail.

Exceptional negotiation skills.

High energy, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and a positive and professional demeanor.

Ability to be flexible and able to function comfortably in a fast paced, changing and dynamic environment.

Applicable experience in identification and implementation of SCM best practices and industry standards.
