Plant Superintendent

Synerfac is seeking an Extended Shift Supervisor for our client in Jessup, MD. Our client is a valued supplier of precast concrete pipe and structures in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States. This position directs and supervises extended shift employees with responsibilities for finishing production, machine cleaning and closing, maintenance, following day prep, safety, quality and other production-related activities.

Procedures:
– Direct and Supervise plant operations for production, maintenance and quality during later hours when there will be less support onsite.
– Must maintain an ability to perform first aid, drive a company vehicle and keep a calm demeanor if an incident should occur.
– Ensure that machines are clean, tested and set up for the following morning shift. This includes ensuring that the proper amount of cages are produced, forms loaded onto the machine and available rings loaded.
– Communicates and works with maintenance and production manager to reduce breakdowns and ensure preventative maintenance are completed consistently. If a breakdown will effect the following morning start up, this supervisor must communicate to the Production Manager the evening before.
– Monitor and ensure production and quality goals set by management are achieved. Identify causes and implement changes when goals are not met.
– Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses.
– Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; make recommendations to Plant manager to replace, or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary.
– Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives; with one of the top goals to be safety.
– Incorporates shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
– Provides direction, development and leadership to Plant lead-men.

Qualifications:
– At least a High School or Associates Degree or two years of Production Supervisory experience in a precast concrete manufacturing environment.
