Pipefitter Superintendent is a trade specific manager that manages all aspects of assigned projects and is responsible daily coordination, trade personnel, safety, company procedures, training, budgets, quality control, internal and external relationships, customer satisfaction, scheduling etc.,
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinates and Participates in project preplanning process with assigned team.
- Maintain Man Loaded Schedules for all Projects.
- Ensures 90 day and annual employee reviews are processed timely within department.
- Enforce company policy regarding tardiness, absenteeism, and PTO.
- Scheduling of all tradesman includes annual shift schedules to ensure safe work environment.
- Monitor job budgets and provides written explanation to assigned Field Manager and Ops Manager when budgets are exceeded.
- Provides Field Manager CTC information update Manpower schedule monthly.
CTC forecast includes labor, materials, rentals with & without operators.
- Ensure field personnel are supervised to achieve or exceed labor goals.
- Participate in establishing goals and objectives for Foreman and other trade levels.
- Establishing strategies and action plans to maintain budgets for assigned projects.
- Make sure job cost feedback is furnished to Project Teams.
- Participates in all internal estimating turnover and project preplan meetings with assigned project teams.
- Required to discuss monthly customers scheduling goals with Project Managers and ensure adjustments are followed through with assigned General Foreman and Foreman.
- Ensures Foreman have ALL required documents to complete assigned projects.
- Participates and ensure Foreman are involved in CAD process to reduce cost.
- Reviews all field reports and distributes to Field Manager and assigned Management team Daily’s, Project Progress reports, 6wk look ahead schedules, Safety Toolbox Topic’s etc.
- Ensures assigned projects have required tools to perform scope of work productively and safely.
- Reviews contract documents to resolve disputes timely.
- Trains foreman on preplanning, scheduling, and coordinating all on-site activities.
- Monitor projects for potential change orders and communicates with the Project Manager for approval.
When approved, notifies General Foreman and Foreman.
- Manages punch list procedure and project closeout process to assure timely completion.
- Assist Project Manager with evaluating percent complete for monthly billings.
- Review and approves subcontractor invoices, when requested.
- Foster a positive working atmosphere, promote proactive and effective communication, facilitate problem solving and minimize and resolve conflict in a constructive manner.
- Prepares, approves, and submits weekly timecards to Field Manager.
- Safety Compliance
- Ensures employee certifications are current.
- Train & oversee field compliance with safety regulations and company safety procedures.
- Maintain field personnel’s focus and drive on Safety initiatives.
- Investigates and reports accidents to OPS manager, HR and assigned Project Manager.
- Oversee training of field personnel after each accident to ensure proper safety protocols have been conveyed to assigned team and have been implemented.
- Quality Control
- Participate in updating and development of quality programs within the Department.
- Ensure field compliance with quality control regulations.
- Maintain focus and drive on Quality initiatives.
- Ensure Punch List procedure is implemented by foreman on assigned projects.
